Journal Entry: December 18, 2025 

Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) 

Mood/Title: Filing Systems and Future Libraries

It was an early and productive start to the day. Caroline met with me in the Scribe’s room to finally train me on the new shelving system for the caste registries. It is a specific process—typing "Zero" to retrieve the master list, finding the correct number, and then dropping the scroll into the shelf within a thirty-second window. I have editing rights now, so I can ensure everything is renamed and numbered correctly (e.g., "5. Builders Citation Form"). It is a bit technical, but I think it will keep our records immaculate.

We discussed the future of the office. Eventually, the room will be locked to Scribes only, so we decided we need to install a mailbox on the outside for general clerks or citizens to drop off their completed forms.

We also spoke about the need for a proper City Library. Currently, the Scribe room is functioning as one, and I mentioned I have all of Abraham’s library collection that we could add to the shelves. Caroline has her eye on a few locations for a dedicated building—perhaps Darian’s house or the open space near Catherine’s—but that is a decision for Asher to make later. For now, we will make do with the space we have.

I also noted a notice for a class in Lara: "The Histories of Lara" taught by Masamune, coming up this Saturday.

To Do:

• Practice filing forms in the new shelves (remember to check the "Zero" list first).

• Find a suitable object to serve as the external mailbox for the office.

• Sort through Abraham's book collection to add to the current library shelves.

• Plan to attend the History class in Lara on Saturday, December 20th.
