Here is the journal entry based on the events of the day.
Journal Entry: January 5, 2026
Location: Ar's Station & Hidden Falls
Mood/Title: "The Blue Puppy," An Elder Proposal, and Father's Fire
It was a day of extremes, ranging from the quiet satisfaction of teaching to the chaotic roar of my father.
The morning began productively. I met Sphere Proto at the cafe, and we had a significant conversation regarding my past troubles in Teletus. To prevent such bullying from happening again, Sphere proposed a solution: drawing up a formal contract co-signed by him, and officially recognizing me as a "Caste Elder." This would grant me legal protections and the freedom to teach without interference. He sent the sample documents later in the day; I must review them with the Governor.
I took Rask to Hidden Falls to meet Father. It went about as intensely as I expected. Father was his usual brash self, demanding to know if Rask was just a guard or a suitor. He laid down a "90-day" waiting period for any courting and threatened to remove Rask's manhood if he touched me inappropriately before then. Rask stood his ground respectfully, even refusing to unarm completely because he was on duty. I was proud of him.
However, Father's visit to Ar's Station later was less diplomatic. He overheard a conversation at the cafe regarding a slave girl and misunderstood it, leading to a shouting match with Luciana, Samuel, and Torrid. It caused quite a scene, drawing in Commander Valerius to keep the peace. Father is a force of nature, but sometimes a destructive one.
Despite the drama, my class—Introduction to Gorean Civilization—went smoothly. We had a small but engaged group (Vincent, Aulus, Eben, and Nuada). We covered the Counter-Earth, the Home Stone, and the Voyages. I even shared my personal story of "Blu," the Kur who saved me as a child. It felt good to share that history.
The night ended quietly with Rask walking me home. He hugged me—risking Father's wrath—and we promised to be honest with one another. We have a talk scheduled for the morning.
To Do:
Review the "Caste Elder" contract and information Sphere sent.
Present the contract draft to the Governor for his opinion.
Check on the students from tonight's class to see if they have follow-up questions.
Complete the census forms for Caroline.
Have the "honest talk" with Rask in the morning.
