Mood/Title: Legalities, Guardianship, and Lectures
The day brought a mix of quiet counsel, teaching, and administrative duties. Early on, I was approached by Eris, a local potter, who expressed deep concern over her wealthy father potentially forcing her into an unwanted companionship contract. I assured her that as a Magistrate, I would review any document she is presented with to ensure she understands what she might be signing.
In the afternoon, I held the repeat session of my "Introduction to Gorean Civilization" class. It was a smaller gathering, attended by a man named Nahir El Khamsin from the Tahari, but the foundational lessons were imparted successfully.
Following the lecture, I spoke with Evelyn Kanto, Samuel Massey, and Luciana outside the academy. Evelyn raised a concerning question regarding the legality of a man—specifically Legion—claiming to serve as a Magistrate for multiple Home Stones. I clarified that such a claim is highly irregular, as a Magistrate must swear loyalty to a single Stone. During our conversation, Samuel officially declared Evelyn as his ward. I provided the proper forms, legalized their guardianship paperwork on the spot, and provided a current list of the recognized Scribes of Ar's Station.
Class Summary: Introduction to Gorean Civilization
The Antichthon: Gor shares Earth's orbit as the Counter-Earth, remaining hidden behind the sun.
Physics and Environment: Gor possesses a lower specific gravity than Earth, which allows for greater physical endurance, agility, and soaring architecture, though the environment itself is harsh and selects only for the strong.
The Priest-Kings: The rulers in the Sardar Mountains deliberately maintain Gor as a protected, primitive preserve, free from the destructive industrialization and steel of Earth.
The Moons: The tides and rhythms of Gorean life are dictated by three moons: the Master Moon, the Handmaiden, and the Prisoner.
The Home Stone: The metaphysical anchor and absolute soul of a city. It represents sovereignty and law; without a Home Stone, a city is dead, and a man is reduced to a mere beast.
Voyages of Acquisition: Earthlings are brought to Gor permanently by the Priest-Kings. To survive, they must shed their Earthly habits, abandon the concept of inherent rights, and fully embrace Gorean duties and the Caste system.
To Do:
File a copy of Samuel and Evelyn's guardianship paperwork in the Scribe's archives.
Keep an eye out for Eris in case she returns with a contract to review.
Finalize the material for next week's new lecture covering the Caste System.
