December 11

Journal Entry: December 11, 2025

Location: Ar's Station / The Cafe by the Water

Mood/Title: Reflections on the Past and Tea at the Station

It was a productive yet reflective day. I spent the morning buried in paperwork, managing to get through six caste registration scrolls. Caroline and I have split the workload—she is taking the Warriors, Physicians, and Builders, while I handle the rest. It is a lot of work, but we are making good progress. We attempted to take a break by visiting Lara for the Trade Fair, but it seems we were too early or the dates have changed. We even briefly visited a strange place called Kahiki before returning home to find Asher.

We adjourned to the cafe near the warehouse for tea, where the conversation turned surprisingly personal. Asher asked me to write a piece about myself for the "Rence Trader," a monthly update for the Station. He asked about my history, and I found myself opening up about things I rarely speak of—my father Ares (Ubar of Rarn), the loss of my family and brother Kama to war, and my later adoption by Reno. I even spoke of Kael and the twins, Kyran and Kyra, who were taken from me. It is a heavy history, full of loss, but Asher was kind, reminding me that on Gor, families are often made and remade after the dust of war settles.

I also confessed how much lighter I feel here at the Station compared to Teletus. I finally feel appreciated. Asher complimented the design and layout of the building proposal I submitted (for the new records building), noting that I had saved him time. After feeling like I could never do enough for Muse in Teletus, hearing that my work is actually valued here means the world to me.

There was a rather pathetic display by a male slave named Hanno at the cafe. He was terrified, dirty, and shaking like a leaf. Asher was quite strict with him, and we discussed the need for him to see the Physician, Lady Mirielle, to check for disease before papers are even drawn up. He is a barbarian and seems completely untrained; I told them I find the male barbarians difficult to work with.

I ended the day visiting Wind and Lacey, grateful for the family I do have now.

To Do:

  • Write a biography/introduction of myself for Asher to include in the Rence Trader.

  • Continue working through the remaining Caste registration scrolls.

  • Follow up on the building proposal for the records library.

  • Double-check the actual start dates for the Lara Trade Fair (Dec 14th?).
