Location: Var-Kor (Hidden Falls) Status: Appointed Magistrate

Summary of the Day

Today marked a significant turning point in my time here. I have officially taken up the Robes of the Magistrate within Var-Kor.

1. The Oath and the Head of Caste I met with Declan, the Head of the Scribes, in his office. He formally swore me in. I recited the Oath of the Scribe, pledging my life and hand to the honor of the Caste, to preserve knowledge, and to act with integrity.

My specific duties were laid out immediately:

• Mentorship: I have been assigned an initiate named Ruben. I am to oversee his daily coursework and report any tardiness immediately.

• Legal Analysis: I was handed the Var-Kor / Turmus Mercantile Accord to analyze for legal and diplomatic interpretation. This is my first "homework" assignment.

• Intelligence: I received files on the caste expulsion of Catherine and Caroline Gallius.

2. The First Magistrate Following my swearing-in, I established my new office. I was visited by Gil Levee, the First Magistrate of Var-Kor. He was welcoming, noting that the city has enough work for "two sets of blue robes." He offered his mentorship and an open door.

Personal Victory: Gil recognized Red from her time on the docks before I owned her. He explicitly complimented me on how well she has been trained and how "polished" she has become. It validates the effort I have put into her.

3. Household Updates (Red)

• Technical: We resolved the malfunction with Red's collar (script errors), and I updated her titler to read "Magistrate Evans' girl."

• Domestic: I purchased new furniture (AF collection—kitchen and bed) to make the house feel more like a home. Red seems pleased with the changes and eager to serve in the new space.

4. Evening Politics & Celebration I ended the day celebrating in the streets with the Silver Blades (Izzy and Bam Bam). It was a lively evening that involved a confrontation with a warrior named Koded Ryu, who was harassing free women (Saffy). Izzy handled it by challenging him to the arena rather than allowing a street brawl.

Note on Protocol: A minor issue arose regarding serving order. I requested tea, but the Northern custom generally dictates men are served ale first. I will need to clarify with Father (Wind) if his men take precedence over me in public settings, though Red's instinct to serve me first was noted as loyal.
