Journal Entry: December 30, 2025
Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)
Mood/Title: Establishments and New Beginnings
Today marked a significant step forward for the station. I spent the early afternoon in the square where I ran into Sphere Proto, the Head of Scribes. It was a pleasant preamble to the day's main event; we discussed the quiet nature of the city and the necessity of standardizing the city's paperwork. Catherine stopped by briefly to greet us, though she excused herself to the gardens once the official business began.
The highlight of the day was the first official High Council meeting. My son, Asher, led the proceedings as the Head of Builders, joined by Sphere and the Physician, Samuel Massey. I sat in my capacity as the voice of the Governor to take the official record. Asher made it clear that Ar's Station is an Outpost governed by the Council of Caste Heads, not a singular Ubar.
We discussed the concerning state of the "new generation" of Goreans—their impatience and lack of interest in deep study or tradition. There was also some debate regarding the classes in Lara; Asher prefers training to remain local, though I mentioned I am scheduled to teach there on Mondays. We also touched upon the need for a functional library and the upcoming expedition to Ar to retrieve our Home Stone.
After the meeting, Sphere and I agreed to collaborate soon regarding educational needs here at the station. He was kind enough to walk me to his residence—located on the lower level behind Darian’s house—so I would know where to find him in the future. It feels good to be back at work, and even better to be working alongside my family.
To Do:
Transcribe and finalize the official minutes from the High Council meeting for the Governor's records.
Organize the current collection of city forms and papers to determine what is missing.
Prepare talking points for the upcoming meeting with Sphere Proto regarding local training and classes.
Continue preparations for the "Introduction to Gorean Civilization" course (despite Asher’s reservations about Lara, the commitment stands).
Keep track of the logistics for the upcoming trip to Ar for the Home Stone.
