Bureaucracy and Family Bonds - January 30

Journal Entry: 2026/01/30 Location: Ironheart / Lara II / Ar's Station Mood/Title: Bureaucracy and Family Bonds

The day began with a whirlwind of transitions between regions. I spent a good portion of the morning helping Odette navigate the "horrid maze" of our city to reach the Scribery. It’s a reminder that while the Station is beautiful, its layout can be a labyrinth for the uninitiated. Odette is eager to become "legitimate" here, though she had quite a few pointed questions about our current registration forms—particularly the sections that seem to blend Home Stone affirmations with OOC schedules. I can’t say I blame her for the "pffft"; as a Scribe, she has an eye for proper documentation. We toured the Archive, and she seemed impressed with the peace we've managed to carve out for our caste, despite the curious lack of proper stools in the High Caste area.

The evening was spent in a much-needed conversation with my son, Asher. We spoke of the upcoming Council meeting and his plans to nominate Magnus for Station Steward—a role that would put another of our family in the Building Caste with the Governor’s ear. It feels like our presence here is truly solidifying. On a more personal note, Asher checked in on my heart. It’s been a strange road lately with potential suitors vanishing or worse, but I’ve learned to keep my ego out of it. As I told him, a week-long courtship is just a "nice vacation." I’m far more concerned with my role as an advisor and teacher.

To Do:

  • Scribe Coordination: Meet with Sphere Proto to discuss my teaching schedule and get the latest on Scribe activities.

  • Legion's Status: Investigate why Legion was removed from the group and if it aligns with my own "further is better" instincts.

  • Ambassador Paperwork: Review the "Ar's Station information - Ambassador (v0.01)" scroll sent by Sphere.

  • Odette's Registration: Follow up with Caroline regarding Odette’s retirement papers and the specific "Protection vs Adoption" forms.
