Kati Evans: Tal Person 1. How are you doing today?
Person 1: steps lightly into the room " Tal Lady Kati looks nice I see you had help in moving in bookcases. I am good have had a good chat with Drusus today. hope your day goes smoothly?"
Kati Evans: It has been going well. I have the Library up here. Eventually I will go back through and improve the titles so the search work better but it is a start at least all the scrolls are there now.
Person 2: me had to follow the signs after hearing all the shouting about an open question session. She wasn't sure what to expect of such a thing but it gave her an excuse to get out of the shop. Spotting two ladies within, her head cants a moment, standing on the precipice of the entrance without actually stepping foot within. "Tal Mistresses."
Kati Evans: Come on in.
Person 1: nods " well always have to start somewhere Kati" looks as hears the voice and watches the girl enter with caution.
Person 2: me stepped into the room, her dark hues flickering across seats and cushions a moment, all arranged in a circle. No, no people hiding in corners, just her and the two ladies, the girl offering a dip of her head in respect. "I hear there was something happening here, Mistresses?" she asks in a polite tone.
Kati Evans: Yes. Open Topic Discussion. come have a seat. Is there any topic or questions either of the two of you have?
Person 2: would move in, seating herself on one of the cushions that had no seats to its back, ensuring she wouldn't have her back to any free, offering a dip of her head. A soft smile on the little Pani doll's lips. At the question of a question, she would shake her head. "Oh no, Mistress, I only came to see what this is all about."
Person 1: smiles listening to the girl speak softly. " I was not really prepared Kati as did not realize this was going on. "
Kati Evans: That is fine. I want to give people time to talk openly about things that interest then. Questions they might have. Anything really.
Person 1: " there is a question I would like to ask. Not sure that it can be answered but it has been sort of playing on my mind."
Kati Evans: What is your question?
Person 1: " well it to do with this City I have not seen any warriors walking the streets, in fact I think we have a lack of the red caste protecting the City? Is there a reason for this or is it just they are around and not out in the open?
Kati Evans: There does seem to be fewer warriors visible these days.
Person 1: Nods am not a great fan of NPC
Kati Evans: There does seem to be fewer men in total. I was hoping to find out more in the Council meeting next week.
Person 1: nods it does seem we are very heavy with woman as they make up most of the Merchants here. Laughs nothing new there Men are not ones for doing work if they can get away with not they rather sit at home and have their slaves warming the furs for them.
Kati Evans: I know some of it has been a concern of mine as well. We often have a good number of people here, but it seems hard to find someone to talk with. My hope is that holding some of these discussions might bring some in to talk and find out what the good ones want. The men willing to help do the work. It is hard to have a leader that you never see.
Person 1: I think a place like Ar Station should have an abundance of warriors. I am hearing you with that Kati it is sometimes very hard to engage with those that are here I have been walked past and ignored so many times it is like am I invisible I am all for approaching others to engage but if they do not respond with open rp it is pointless. I do not like to say so Kati knowing that your boys are busy people but I find it rather disconcerting that they seem to be very elusive
Kati Evans: I like it when someone say "Tal" or something even if they are going to say more ( like para ) so then I know someone is there and will be saying more soon. How would you like that to change?
Person 1: nods I hate it when you have someone there and they say nothing so you have no idea if they going to speak or not and you stand there like a lemon
Kati Evans: What could my boys do to not seems so elusive to you? Do you have any suggestions?
Person 1: well it would be nice to see them around the city and engaging with people on an equal footing they hold high positions that is a given but it might do them good to come down and see what their people in the Stations are thinking and doing. instead of waiting for people to seek them out
Kati Evans: Where would you like to see more of them, like down in the cafe area?
Person 1: I have had IM's from Asher nods that is alright but why do that why not find me in rp and speak. yes where people gather
Kati Evans: Person 2, what do you think?
Person 2: looks up from her thoughts and listening. "I have not yet had a single customer come into the sweets shop while I am there, Mistress," she says softly.
Person 1: makes a mental note we have a sweet shop
Kati Evans: A sweet shop sounds nice, I did not realize we had one. Where is the sweet shop located?
Person 2: would tilt her head a little bit. "Next to the tea shop that is next to the bakery, Mistress." Her head bobs, a bit surprised that they did not know. In her experience, all ladies liked chocolate.
Kati Evans: Awe, then I was in there this morning. Grins. I will have to make a point of coming again soon. Chocolate is very good. Maybe post what times you will be in the shop so we know when to come see you.
Person 1: I have not noticed but then I cannot really visit as I would have to buy lots and then more chocolate, shakes head and am not allowed it as very bad for me
Kati Evans: I know I would come and get some sweets.
Person 2: would cant her head a little bit further. A feline poise and a soft smile. "Oh that would be up to the mistress," she says softly. "I am only helping while I am here."
Person 1: do you make the sweets
Kati Evans: Maybe tell her I suggested it then she can consider it and deside.
Person 1: i think a good idea
Kati Evans: I would visit more of the shops if I knew what time the shopkeeper was in so I could speak with them.
Person 2: smiles softly. "I will, of course, Mistresses." She looks to Person 1 then and nods. "Oh yes, I help make them too."
Person 1: would help if others did that to then I woould not waste my time trying to find items I am in need of
Kati Evans: I think I will find Drusus and suggest it to him. I myself got tired of going when no one was there, so I stopped going. Anything else been on your mind?
Person 1: smiles I am the same Kati and kash has been a few times he did get to see the seamstress but when I tried to follow up was informed she was now learning the skill of wine making with Lucius
Person 2: would shift on her cushion a little, looking between them. She was a quiet girl. Patient. An observer if you would.
Kati Evans: Person 2, is there anything that you can think of that would make your experience here better? (Other than people coming to the shop.)
Person 1: it is annoying when people come and you make time to rp and then they go poof I know it is how sl is but think we need to see why they do not stay is something that can be done to make it more welcoming
Person 2: would blink a moment at the question. "My experience, Mistress?" she asks. "It would be better if my master was here."
Person 1: laughs at the girl
Kati Evans: Hum, that one is harder to fix. Well I have been looking for ideas to make this place more welcoming, so it you think of something, please let me know. I enjoy this city and do want to see it grow.
Person 2: nods her head. "Of course, I just hope he finishes his work soon." Not that Person 2 was under any risk or duress. The normal two hand rule did not tend to apply to her.
Person 1: well Kati if you can sort that problem for the girl you would be inundated with requests
Kati Evans: Grins. "Normal two hand rule" , what is this?
Person 2: looks at Kati as if the lady had read her mind; words she had not spoken but only thought. "Two hands, Mistress?" she says. "A girl is considered abandoned if she has not seen her owner in two hands, or in some places, two weeks."
Kati Evans: Have you been alone that long?
Person 2: blinks a moment. "I am never alone, Mistress."
Kati Evans: Never alone?
Person 2: simply smiles. There were things she simply was not permitted to discuss.
Kati Evans: Ok, I think I missed something... your master is not here but you are never alone... how does that work?
Person 1: listens interested at what the girl says tilts head at what she speaks of knowing that if she has not seen her owner ffor an amount of time she is lucky to still be free from the kennels
Kati Evans: We seem to be missing some information.
Person 2: would push up to her feet. The black silk tassles spilling about her frame, the polished black steel around her neck glinting. "I am accompanying the mistress in the sweet shop," she says with a nod of her head. "So I am not alone."
Kati Evans: Oh, I see. She is watching over girl. That is a good thing then. Is there any else you would like to ask or talk about on a different subject?
Person 1: nods and keeps you safe while you wait for your Master to return
Person 2: purses her lips a moment, considering the idea of Tomy looking over her. A slight pause. "Hai, I suppose you could say that, Mistresses," she says. She looks to wards the exit, a slight shift of her feet. "The mistress is under my master's protection."
Kati Evans: This has been a good conversation. I am glad you both came and I do hope you come again. It is good to hear what others think.
Person 1: if I am around will always attept to come Kati as i find it interesting and am curious as to why others do not venture out and come to speak and listen to others
Kati Evans: Well that is what I am hoping will begin to happen. I want all to be welcome here in this room. Take care Person 2. It can be a slow process.
Person 2: would dip her head a little bit. "I wish you well, Mistresses." And with that, she would move to slip out.
Person 1: nods I am hoping more will see the advantage of what you are trying to do. do we have an actual City slaver or just private ones? it can but patients is key.
Kati Evans: We have two I thought, one private and one city. Domi is the private one....hum. Ben Huntsman I believe is the city slaver.
Person 1: nods i know Domi. I did meet another oh yes that was his name.
Kati Evans: I try to keep a list but some leave without me knowing.
Person 1: i thought he was also a private slaver I could of misunderstood him.
Kati Evans: Oh, I would have to check.
Person 1: well must get home and go over this scroll that I wrote up when had talk with Drusus and put it in some order.
Kati Evans: Nice. I am glad you came. Please do again.
Person 1: I think what you are doing here is good for the City just hope others will see the benefit as well. wish you well Kati till next time.
Kati Evans: Me too. I have a few other things I am working on too. Thank you.
