December 8

Journal Entry: December 8, 2025 Location: Hidden Falls / The North Status: Complicated

Another day of navigating the shifting sands of this new life.

Morning Exploration & Encounters I spent some time with Sirena Lauria (Ingrid) this morning. She’s a visitor, a free woman with strong opinions on the lack of trees and the "contained" nature of our village. We walked through the city, and she commented on everything from the sweets at the bakery (too sugary) to the laundry hanging on the line. It was an interesting perspective—she seemed almost disappointed by the domesticity of it all. Caroline joined us briefly, looking lovely in pink, and was her usual gracious self, though I sensed a bit of tension when Sirena critiqued the land.

We also met Darian el Nairad, a Scribe and newspaper publisher from Ar's Station. He was charming, speaking Italian and inviting me to read his paper. It's good to make connections outside of just warriors and family.

The Var-Kor Conflict The situation with Var-Kor has escalated into absurdity. I was ejected from their land group today despite having paid rent for the month. Bella Shade claimed it was because of "dual grouping" (wearing a Silver Blades tag), which is ridiculous. Father (Wind) was furious when I told him. He called them "fuck heads" and promised to handle it with Vulcan, the Ubar.

It’s frustrating. I tried to be a part of that community, to work as a Magistrate, but the petty power plays are exhausting. Father is right—they are losing good people because of their poor leadership.

Family Time I had a long talk with Father in the Great Hall. We discussed everything from his aging father in RL (stubborn old men!) to the politics of the cities. He’s very supportive of my teaching plans in Lara and encouraged me not to worry about the Var-Kor drama. He reminded me that the Silver Blades go where they are paid, and we have our own sanctuary here in the Fjord.

We also laughed about Red. She’s gone, but her shadow lingers. Wind is convinced she was an alt using AI, and honestly, good riddance. I need real people in my life, not bots.

Future Plans Despite the drama, I’m moving forward. I have my class in Lara coming up in January ("Introduction to Gorean Civilization"). I’m also settling into my role here in the North. It’s quiet, but it’s my kind of quiet. I spent some time organizing my inventory and just breathing.

I’m learning that peace in Gor is rare, and you have to fight to keep it. But with family like this, I think I can hold my ground.

To Do:

  • Prepare lesson plans for the Lara class.

  • Wait for Vulcan to fix the group ejection error (or demand a refund).

  • Look for a new slave—one who is actually present.
