December 9

Journal Entry: December 9, 2025 Location: Ironheart / Hidden Falls Status: Focused on Work

Today felt productive, a day of small victories and necessary organization.

Morning Upgrades I started the day by treating myself to some new outfits from Kitty Creations and Arwen's Creations—lovely blue gowns and some warm fur pieces. The cold here is relentless, and I refuse to freeze, even if I am inside most of the time. I also picked up a new hairstyle from Truth. It’s good to feel put together again.

A New Visitor at the Gate While at the gate in Ironheart, I met a woman named Charoa Kron. She literally landed on top of me (teleport mishaps are always graceful). She was polite but mentioned she is taking a break from roleplay. Interestingly, she mentioned she was once family with Asher Laurent. Small world.

Scribe Work and the Newspaper I ran into Darian el Nairad again near the newsstand. He was promoting his newspaper, and we had a brief chat. He asked if I was a trader, which made me smile—no, just a Magistrate with a shopping habit. He admitted he hadn't seen me at meetings, which makes sense since I'm new. He seems dedicated to his paper and his oasis gallery. It’s inspiring to see others so passionate about their projects.

Family Reunion (Again) I ran into Caroline and Catherine (Aurora) near the market. It was wonderful to see them both. We sat for tea (though the service was… questionable). Caroline summoned a random slave boy named Hanno to serve us. Poor thing was terrified and untrained, shaking like a leaf. Catherine bet a gold coin he would mess up, but he actually managed to pour the tea without disaster.

We talked about everything—the beauty of Ironheart, the lack of training for slaves here (Caroline suggested I buy Hanno, but I declined), and my new role. Caroline mentioned that Asher is working on lore for the sim, which explains why everything feels so authentic.

The conversation turned serious when I mentioned my time in Teletus with Muse. Caroline was sympathetic about how that situation devolved. It’s comforting to have friends who understand the history there without needing every detail explained.

Evening with Father I spent the evening with Wind (Father) back at Hidden Falls. I showed him around Ironheart earlier in the day, including the schoolroom where I plan to teach. He seemed impressed.

Later, we talked about the Var-Kor situation. I’m still banned from their land group, which is annoying. Father promised to handle Vulcan, calling the whole thing "moronic." He also updated me on Red—apparently, she has been online but avoiding us. He's convinced she's an alt using AI and has "busted" her in the groups. It’s a mess, but I’m glad he’s handling the fallout so I don't have to.

We also discussed my teaching plans for Lara in January. I’m excited about it. It feels like a fresh start, a way to build something of my own outside of the city drama.

To Do:

  • Finalize the lesson plan for the Lara class.

  • Check on the status of my Var-Kor rental (and refund!).

  • Maybe look into acquiring a slave who actually knows how to serve tea without shaking.
