Journal Entry: February 28, 2026
Location: Ar's Station
Mood/Title: Celebrations and Scholarly Transitions
The atmosphere at Ar's Station today was electric, marked by a joyous companionship ceremony for Solomon Caesar and Anora Larson. The festivities were grand, filled with laughter, toasts, and an abundance of Gorean delicacies like roasted tarsk and honey-glazed treats.
I shared a lovely dance with my son, Asher, who has been such a pillar of support during the Academy's opening weeks. Amidst the celebration, there was much talk of the future; Solomon even hinted at the possibility of a child, which added a layer of hope to the day's events. It was a beautiful reminder that despite the harshness of our world, life and love continue to flourish.
Earlier in the day, I spent time at the Academy refining the learning environment. I’ve been experimenting with the seating arrangements, opting for a mix of stools for the Free and cushions for the slaves to ensure everyone is positioned comfortably for the lectures. My friend Jacquie and I had a long discussion about the presence of slaves in the city; she noted that many seem elusive or "offish," and we pondered how the Academy might help improve their integration and discipline through education.
I also spent a significant portion of my time updating the Station Academy Library and Files. The collection is growing rapidly—I’ve managed to load over 4,000 items, including various Gorean texts and scribe courses. It is a massive undertaking, but seeing the resources available to the citizens makes the effort worthwhile.
To Do:
Review the companionship contract and documentation for Solomon and Anora.
Continue organizing the "Archive" of notecards and scrolls for the new Academy library.
Finalize the "Ask the Teacher Anything" session notes for the upcoming weekend.
Look into the "Canoe Route" Jacquie mentioned to see if it holds potential for Ar's Station trade.
