December 27

Based on the chat logs provided, here is your journal entry for the day.

Journal Entry: December 27, 2025

Location: Ironheart & Lara

Mood/Title: Sisterhood & Clarity

What started as a lazy, laughter-filled morning turned into a day of hard emotional lessons. I spent the early hours with Caroline and Catherine. Caroline had us in stitches with her "exercise" routine—running around the room and crouching like a larl—before we moved to the Bath House. We had a deep, necessary conversation about companionship. I advised them to only sign a one-month contract initially to ensure they retain their power of choice and aren't trapped with a man who abuses his authority.

We met a new builder named Van, and I clarified my future role as mother to Asher, Tyrian, and Magnus. It turns out Tyrian and Asher are full brothers, while Magnus is their half-brother, but I intend to claim all three as my sons.

The day took a sharp turn when Aurik arrived. After all his sweet words yesterday about wanting to be with me, he essentially brushed me aside to go bathe with the slave girl, Nava. It hurt deeply, but Caroline and Catherine were right there to support me, reminding me that I am a free woman who deserves to be a priority, not an afterthought. I have decided to step back; if he doesn't see my worth now, he never will. To take my mind off things, we traveled to Lara to meet Lady Andromeda regarding a friendship agreement for Besnit. It was a long day, but at least I ended it with a hug from my son, Asher.

To Do:

  • Focus my energy on my sons (Asher, Tyrian, Magnus) rather than a suitor who doesn't value my time.

  • Follow up on the friendship agreement between Besnit and Lara/Teletus.

  • Keep an eye out for a music box that Tyrian mentioned was missing.

  • Continue mentoring Caroline and Catherine; they are becoming like family.

December 26

Journal Entry: December 26, 2025

Location: Ironheart

Mood/Title: Courtship & New Beginnings

It was a very quiet start to the morning, sitting and having blackwine with Caroline and catching up, but the day turned into something wonderful. Masujiro returned with a completely new look—a tall, handsome warrior shape that I definitely rate a 10. We spoke for hours, and he asked to court me for the next six hands. I told him he must ask my Father, Wind, but I am so happy to say yes. He has even changed his name to Aurik Stormvald to mark this new chapter.

We discussed our future family; he is supportive of my desire to be a mother to Asher, Tyrian, and Magnus, so we will have a full house. We also took in a slave girl named Nava (who Nor calls "Flower"). She is a "barbarian" and seems sweet; Aurik put his temporary collar on her so she can help us with errands. Later at the tavern, Aurik publicly announced our courtship to the room. We ended the night with him carrying me inside. It is so nice to finally feel safe and not be alone.

To Do:

  • Arrange a meeting between Aurik and Father Wind so Aurik can ask for permission to companion.

  • Get Asher to trim the bush that is rubbing against the swing.

  • Find a small table and a few stools for the outdoor sitting area.

  • Spend time getting to know Nava and see how she fits into the household.

  • Make sure Aurik gets more sleep!

Journal Entry: 2025/12/25

Location: Ar's Station

Mood/Title: A Sleen for Christmas & Canon Controversies

It was a surprisingly active Christmas in the city. I met a lovely new scribe named Kathani Mondrich; Masujiro and I helped her find the Inn, and I truly hope she decides to stay, as we could use more scribes. I also finally met the physicians, Samuel and Luciana. They seem like a wonderful couple, though Luciana shared a rather shocking story about a warrior behaving dishonorably with a slave right in the open. It reminds me why we need good leadership here.

The wildest part of the day was meeting "Deft," a massive tamed sleen that came sniffing around while Masujiro was showing me the jail cells. The beast was huge—Masujiro says he’s still growing! He slobbered all over my festive red dress, which was a disaster, but Masujiro taught me some hand signals to make him sit and lie down. We even took him hunting in the woods. The beast caught a tarsk and actually shared the kill with me. I had to eat a piece of meat to be accepted as "pack." It was messy, but I think I made a new friend.

Later, Masujiro took me on a trip to "Edo," a Japanese-themed retreat. We met Gyre there, and the place was beautiful—especially the theater with the fish and the hot springs.

However, the night ended on a bit of a tense note. Masujiro and Gyre got into a heated debate about whether "Tarn Tunnels" under Ar are canon in the books. Gyre used a search engine to prove they aren't, while Masujiro insisted they are in Book 1. He even sent me the book chapters to prove his point before going to sleep frustrated.

To Do:

  • Get my blue dress cleaned immediately (sleen slobber is hard to get out).

  • Read the chapters Masujiro sent me to see who is right about the Tarn Tunnels.

  • Check on Kathani at the Inn to see if she needs anything else.

  • Locate the olive tree near where Samuel and Luciana live to pay them a visit.

December 24

Journal Entry: 2025/12/24

Location: Ar's Station

Mood/Title: A Quiet Eve & The Guardian Tarn

It was a peaceful start to Christmas Eve in the city. The morning was quiet, likely because everyone is busy preparing for the holiday tomorrow. I spent some time chatting with Asher, Caroline, and Masujiro. Masujiro had his Tarn with him—a massive creature. He shared that he had recently returned a slave named Tza to her owner at Lame Kaiila and spoke highly of "The Greens" (Samuel and Luciana) who had helped treat her previously.

The calm was briefly interrupted when a stranger ran past us without an introduction, rudely keeping their ranged weapons attached within the city walls. Masujiro scolded them for the breach of protocol. When he had to step away to assist someone else, he gallantly left his Tarn to guard Caroline and me, which was a nice touch. I mentioned my plans to see the new Avatar movie tomorrow and spotted a "Merry The Musician" bot on the marketplace that caught my eye. I eventually nodded off at the keyboard and had to say my goodbyes to get some rest.

To Do:

  • Go to the movies to see the new Avatar.

  • Check out/test the "Merry The Musician" item from the Marketplace.

  • Get some rest before the Christmas festivities.

December 23

Journal Entry: December 23, 2025

Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: A Tour of Hidden Places, Birthday Confidences, and a Magistrate's Sign

It was a very full morning, both in terms of exploring the city and deepening my connection with the people here. Asher found me early on and took me on a personal tour of some of the city's more hidden areas. He showed me a large event room above the city that is perfect for dancing, and then the Tarn Tower, which has living quarters and an office. He also clarified the defense situation that Izzy had worried me about; it turns out the Fort itself is secure from lockpicking and raids, even if the outer city is not. That puts my mind at ease.

Asher also surprised me by replacing my sign. It now properly reads "Magistrate Kati Evans." It is a small gesture, but it makes me feel truly established here.

Caroline joined us, and we ended up near the water wheel and lumber area. I nearly walked right into the "Pleasure Gardens"—which turns out to be a polite name for the brothel/slave gardens—before Asher stopped me. It is actually quite a beautiful spot with fountains and blue curtains, hidden away below my house, though I suspect I won't be visiting it often!

The most meaningful part of the day, however, was my conversation with Caroline. It is her birthday today. We spoke about our ages—I shared my birth year—and she mentioned her mother is close in age to me. I also opened up about my real-life children and the difficulties I’ve faced. She was incredibly kind and supportive. We seem to share a vision for a community built on connection rather than just population numbers.

We also discussed work, specifically regarding the Physicians, Dr. Massey and his companion. We need to establish a system where blank forms are kept in a file box owned by Asher, so that if the current Physicians leave (as castes often move), the station retains the records and the format.

I am cutting the day short to travel for a nice dinner in the world.

To Do:

  • Create a "Master List" of topics to discuss with Asher, starting with the file box for blank caste forms.

  • Introduce myself to Dr. Massey and Lady Massey when they are online.

  • Locate the perfume shop Asher mentioned (he challenged me to find it on my own).

  • Check back on the Google Calendar situation in Lara to see if it has been repaired.

New Arrivals & Roster Updates

Asher (and Charoa) welcomed several new residents and groups to the station:

  • Physicians: Samuel Theodore Massey (samvimesofank) and Luciana Rowan-Massey (wildone.battitude) – both respected Physicians of Gor.

  • Commerce (Mining): Nephtides na Neidos (nephtides) and his girl Ganima. He runs the White Tarn Mining Company, supplying silver and iron.

  • Warrior/Elder: Masujiro Seo (pastelgrizzly). He is recognized as an Elder to the Pani and a Veteran of the Red Caste. (Note: This confirms the arrival of the friend you spoke to on Dec 6).

  • Assassins (Hidden): A notice from Charoa announced that Master Assassin Conrad and his killers (D'Arrius, Janus, Drifter, and Charoa) have started RP, hiding in the "old abandoned chambers" used as a hidden council room during wartime.

Announcements & Events

January 2026 Event: Asher announced a role-play event titled "The road from Ar's Station to Ar" to kick off the new year. It will be open to the wider Gorean community.

  • Holiday Slowdown: On Dec 10, Asher sent a message acknowledging that things may move slower due to real-life holiday and work commitments, asking for patience among the community.

  • Christmas Room: A holiday-themed room has been opened on the first floor of the fort (marked by a red mat) for residents to gather and relax.

Schools, academies and universities on Gor?

It's strange, but when someone writes that this or that doesn't exist on Gor, it usually does.

In the eighth chapter of *Conspirators of Gor* (Vol. 31), we read about four university towns to which the families of Ar send their sons to study: Harfax, Venna, Besnit, and Brundisium.

“Behold this barbarian vulo,” said the auctioneer. “Surely she is of some interest. Might she not be useful as a third or fourth slave in your house, to relieve higher, better slaves of disagreeable tasks? Perhaps she might do as a starter slave, for a son, or a gift for a son or nephew, returning from his studies in Harfax, Venna, Besnit, or Brundisium.”

*Conspirators of Gor* (Vol. 31), Chapter 8

The scene takes place at a slave auction in Ar. The text mentions university towns comparable to Oxford, Cambridge, Heidelberg, and Göttingen, as well as homecoming parties where a simple starter slave is apparently a common gift.

The Gorean's horizons extend beyond the boundaries of their city or caste. Mobility, migration, cultural exchange, and scientific discourse are as much a part of Gor as the Home Stone and the caste system. In this respect, Gor is no different from the ancient Mediterranean or medieval Europe.

We should abandon the notion of a dull and narrow-minded Gor who thinks only within city and caste boundaries. The books paint a different picture. Even on Gor, diverse educational models and systems exist.

Mood/Title: Missed Connections and Educational Research

It was a fragmented morning, jumping between locations and tasks. I started the day sorting through more delivery boxes—a new plant pot set arrived which should help spruce up the office or the house.

I took a quick trip up to Lara II after Abraham sent over information regarding the Gorean Campus. While there, I also picked up a schedule for the Mar Pai Theater for the coming year. It seems the cultural scene up the river is thriving.

Back at the Station, I realized I missed a visit. I heard Asher knocking and Caroline speculating that I was elsewhere. I must have been too deep in my thoughts or busy with the inventory to answer in time. I hope it wasn't urgent. Abraham has been very active with research today, sending over a scroll regarding schools and universities on Gor. His dedication to knowledge is impressive.

To Do:

  • Read Abraham's scroll on Gorean schools and universities.

  • Review the Mar Pai Theater schedule.

  • Catch up with Asher and Caroline to see what they needed.

  • Place the new plant pots.

Mood/Title: Sunday Travels and Symphony Invitations

The morning in the Station was slow and quiet. I spent the early hours sorting through various notices—it seems the holiday season is in full swing even here, with announcements for Christmas sales and an invitation to an "SL ISO" symphonic storytelling concert. It sounds lovely, though I am not sure if I will have the time to attend.

Most of the usual crowd was awake—Asher, Caroline, Catherine, and Magnus—but I kept to myself for the most part, taking some time away from my duties during the mid-morning to rest.

Around noon, I gathered my things and traveled up the river to the City of Lara (Lara II). I had noted a history class on the schedule recently, and the Trade Fair is still ongoing. It feels good to leave the Station for a few hours and see what our neighbors up the Vosk are doing.

To Do:

  • Explore the City of Lara and check the status of the Trade Fair.

  • See if Masamune's history class is in session or if I have missed it.

  • Review the invitation for the December Concert.

An Open Letter to the Free Women of Second Life Gor

To the women who choose to roleplay in Gor, especially those who wish to do so as Free Women, you are welcome.

Being a Free Woman in Gor is a demanding role. It asks for restraint, discipline, and a willingness to place one’s Home Stone above personal preference. It is not meant to be easy or convenient. It is meant to be honorable. A Free Woman is a citizen first, shaped by her city and accountable to it. Pride in one’s Home Stone and community should run deep, not worn lightly or only when it is advantageous.

A Free Woman is defined not only by her freedoms, but by her boundaries. Those boundaries are what separate her from the kajira. Where a slave’s body is owned, displayed, and used at the will of another, a Free Woman’s body is her own and therefore guarded. Modesty is not submission. It is a declaration of status. The veil does not erase a woman. It distinguishes her.

In today’s SL-Gor, a contradiction has become increasingly common.

Many women who choose Free Woman roles, particularly within the higher castes, openly resent the veils and robes that come with those positions. They push to wear as little as possible while still expecting the respect owed to the role. Too often, that respect is demanded for the player rather than earned through the character. This tension erodes the meaning of caste and turns honor into costuming.

Veils and robes are not suggestions. They are not punishments. They are not aesthetic negotiations. They are requirements of station. They exist for a reason. There is dignity in being covered. There is pride in restraint. There is something deeply Gorean in knowing that one’s body is not public currency, that one’s appearance is reserved for family and household rather than the street.

It must also be said plainly that not every woman needs to be a Scribe or a Physician.

These are among the highest castes in Gor. They carry authority, responsibility, and strict expectations of conduct. Their modest dress is not symbolic. It is functional to the role. If the robes feel unbearable or the veil feels like an insult, the problem may not be Gor. It may be the caste you have chosen.

There is no shame in choosing a lower caste.

  • Be a cloth worker or seamstress whose hands clothe the city.
  • Be a potter, a weaver, a brewer, or a cook whose work sustains households.
  • Be a merchant’s wife who manages accounts, trade contacts, and logistics.
  • Be a midwife, a healer’s assistant, or a woman trusted with the care of children.
  • Be a landholder’s daughter who oversees fields, animals, and stores.
  • Be a slaver, trusted to manage property, including slaves, with discipline and restraint.

Each of these roles offers daily interaction, responsibility, and continuity. They create shared history, long memory, and relationships built through routine rather than spectacle. They are also where new roleplayers are most often taught, guided, and shaped. Training slaves, apprentices, and assistants is how a culture sustains itself. It is how Gor remains Gor.

These women form the backbone of a city. They are seen, known, and relied upon. Their worth is not measured by proximity to power or by how closely they mirror men. It is measured by what would be lost if they were gone. These roles often allow greater freedom of movement and expression while remaining fully Gorean in spirit and structure.

Gor does not ask women to chase authority or to compete with men on male terms. It asks women to be rooted, competent, and proud of the place they hold within their community. Power in Gor is not loud. It does not announce itself. It is steady, earned through trust, memory, and reliability.

Instead of asking what a role grants you, ask what it demands of you. Ask whether you can uphold it without resentment. Ask whether you can wear its symbols with pride rather than defiance.

Gor offers many paths. Choose one you can walk honestly. Choose one you can honor fully. That choice, made without apology or bitterness, is its own form of freedom.

Should any wish to speak with me directly on these matters, my door remains open. I am willing to listen, to discuss, and to engage in good faith with those who approach with sincerity.

By my hand,

Lady Hwa Blossom

Caste of Builders

Resident of the Isle of Teletus

Mood/Title: Mailboxes, Open Letters, and Wardrobe Updates

It was a day largely spent on logistics and personal organization. I started the morning dealing with some necessary updates to my wardrobe—specifically a fix for a fur stole and sorting through some new deliveries, including a blue "Dagmaer" gown and a "Gibson Ensemble." I attempted to try on the "Elven Queen" gown, but the demo timer ran out and the garment detached itself rather unceremoniously.

On the business front, I received the operating instructions for the Scribe Mailbox. This confirms we can move forward with the plan Caroline and I discussed yesterday to place a drop-box outside the office for general forms. I also took a brief trip over to Lara II, perhaps to check on the Trade Fair location, before returning to the quiet of Hidden Falls.

There is quite a bit of reading to catch up on. Abraham circulated an "Open Letter to the Free Women of Gor," and Magnus sent over the official information for the City of Lara Holiday Trade Fair. The city itself was bustling with activity—Armand Wayfarer was around, and I noticed a Combat Mod named Siobhan Lisle arrived as well.

To Do:

  • Set up the Scribe Mailbox using the new operating instructions.

  • Read Abraham's "Open Letter to the Free Women of Gor."

  • Review the schedule for the Lara Holiday Trade Fair.

  • Properly fit the new blue Dagmaer gown.

Time Passes Slowly

The Stillness of Ar’s Station

Time does not merely pass in Ar’s Station; it lingers, thick as the river mist that rolls off the Vosk. In this outpost, the days feel elongated, stretched thin by the vast silence of the surrounding plains. The lively clamor of a true city feels like a distant memory, replaced here by the rhythmic creak of timber and the occasional call of a tarn in the distance.

With so few souls to converse with, the mind often turns inward. Conversation is a rare luxury, and the lack of social distraction leaves only the heavy, unrelenting weight of the tasks at hand.

The Burden of Bureaucracy

My days are currently consumed by an endless sea of parchment and ink. These forms—essential for the station's governance and the city’s expansion—have become a grueling marathon. I had hoped to be further along by now, but the complexity of the logistics proves as stubborn as a kyn (Gorean mule). Every stroke of the quill feels vital, yet the progress is slower than I ever anticipated.

The clock is ticking louder now. With January fast approaching, the city is poised to emerge from its quietude. The planned advertising push means the eyes of the Delta will soon be upon us, and the foundation must be laid before the first influx of travelers arrives.

Looking Toward the Delta: Lara

The new year brings more than just administrative pressure; it brings the road. Come January, I will be dividing my time between the station and the Gorean College in the city of Lara.

Located further up the winding veins of the Vosk Delta, Lara offers a different energy—one where I will step away from the desk to take up the mantle of an educator. Teaching classes there will be a welcome change of pace, though it adds another layer of urgency to my current work. I must clear my plate here in Ar's Station if I am to be ready for the students awaiting me in the north.

December 18

Journal Entry: December 18, 2025

Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: Filing Systems and Future Libraries

It was an early and productive start to the day. Caroline met with me in the Scribe’s room to finally train me on the new shelving system for the caste registries. It is a specific process—typing "Zero" to retrieve the master list, finding the correct number, and then dropping the scroll into the shelf within a thirty-second window. I have editing rights now, so I can ensure everything is renamed and numbered correctly (e.g., "5. Builders Citation Form"). It is a bit technical, but I think it will keep our records immaculate.

We discussed the future of the office. Eventually, the room will be locked to Scribes only, so we decided we need to install a mailbox on the outside for general clerks or citizens to drop off their completed forms.

We also spoke about the need for a proper City Library. Currently, the Scribe room is functioning as one, and I mentioned I have all of Abraham’s library collection that we could add to the shelves. Caroline has her eye on a few locations for a dedicated building—perhaps Darian’s house or the open space near Catherine’s—but that is a decision for Asher to make later. For now, we will make do with the space we have.

I also noted a notice for a class in Lara: "The Histories of Lara" taught by Masamune, coming up this Saturday.

To Do:

  • Practice filing forms in the new shelves (remember to check the "Zero" list first).

  • Find a suitable object to serve as the external mailbox for the office.

  • Sort through Abraham's book collection to add to the current library shelves.

  • Plan to attend the History class in Lara on Saturday, December 20th.

Journal Entry: December 17, 2025

Location: Ar's Station / Hidden Falls

Mood/Title: A Quiet Midday and Wardrobe Updates

It was a quiet midday at the Station. While the city wasn't empty—Asher, Caroline, and Magnus were all about—there wasn't much in the way of conversation. I spent the time focusing on myself and getting my personal inventory in order. I sorted through some new clothing, trying on the "Dagmaer" and "Gisela" gowns (in blue, of course). It feels good to organize my belongings as I settle deeper into life here.

I noticed a few others passing through the region, like Charoa and someone named Landers, but everyone seemed to be keeping to themselves or handling business quietly. Abraham seemed to be having trouble staying awake, as I saw him drifting in and out of consciousness (online/offline) repeatedly.

Around two in the afternoon, Caroline retired for the day, and Asher went to rest as well. I decided to retreat from the main city back to the solitude of Hidden Falls to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in peace.

To Do:

  • Finish organizing the new gowns in the wardrobe.

  • Check on Abraham later to see if he is feeling better.

  • Continue drafting the introduction for the Rence Trader paper.

Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: Afternoon Traffic and a New Name

I arrived at the Station this afternoon to find the city quite full. Despite the number of people, it seems to be a relatively quiet afternoon with several people resting or handling matters outside of the city (OOC).

I noticed something wonderful immediately upon checking the registry: Caroline’s name has changed. She is now listed as Caroline Gallius-Laurent. It seems she and Asher have made their union official in name now as well. It makes me smile to see it; they are good for one another.

To Do:

  • Congratulate Caroline and Asher on the visible name change.

  • Catch up with Magnus since he just arrived.

  • See if there is any Scribe work to be done while the city is quiet.

Mood/Title: Afternoon Check-in

I arrived at the Station mid-afternoon to find the city fairly awake. Asher and Caroline are both present. It seems like a standard, busy day at the Station, though I haven't jumped into any specific tasks just yet. I took a moment to ensure my gear was properly configured upon arrival.

To Do:

  • Connect with Caroline and Asher since they are both awake.

  • See if there are any new updates for the Scribe caste.

 Journal Entry: December 14, 2025

Location: Hidden Falls

Mood/Title: A Quiet Morning and New Deliveries

The day began quietly here in Hidden Falls. I woke early to find the world still waking up, though I noticed both Asher and Caroline were already about, along with Abraham and a few others. It is comforting to see familiar faces—or at least know they are present—even before the day's work truly begins.

I spent the morning organizing my inventory and received a delivery for a new structure—a "Chalet'tepian Collection" shed. I need to see where this might fit on the property or if it will be useful for my new office setup. It is peaceful right now, a stark contrast to the roof-running chaos with the Silver Blades a few days ago.

Today is also supposed to be the start of the Trade Fair in Lara, if the dates I heard earlier were correct. I should likely make preparations to head that way and see if the festivities have begun.

To Do:

  • Inspect the new shed delivery and decide on its placement.

  • Travel to Lara to check on the Trade Fair (scheduled to start today).

  • Connect with Caroline regarding the Scribe work we discussed.

  • Continue drafting the self-introduction for Asher's "Rence Trader."

December 12

Journal Entry: December 12, 2025

Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: Technical Difficulties, Tactical Critiques, and a Silver Blade Wedding

The day began with the quiet scratching of quills and the shuffling of virtual paperwork with Caroline. We are trying to organize the Scribe's shelves using a new system where scrolls are dropped into specific boxes to be sorted. It is a bit finicky—we had to adjust the drop zones several times—but I think using a numbering system rather than long titles will keep the archives clean. We also realized we are missing formal "Rules of the City." I shared Janette's old rules from Teletus with Caroline to use as a template; there is no sense in reinventing the wheel when we have excellent examples to build upon.

The afternoon took a very different, more rugged turn. Izzy, one of the Silver Blades, came by to visit. He saw Father's picture on my wall and then proceeded to give me a very blunt, tactical critique of Ar's Station. While I think the city is beautiful, Izzy called it a "Raider's Dream." He pointed out the lack of defensive fortifications, the absence of choke points, and how easily archers could dominate the streets from the rooftops. To prove his point, he actually took me "roof running"—yes, me, climbing about on the rooftops! He insists that unless the layout is changed to include a central keep and better gates, the city is undefendable. He asked me to pass this warning on to the owners.

Later, another Silver Blade named Sky joined us, along with his intended, Liddi (a Bloodaxe). It turned into an impromptu ceremony. Sky asked me to witness and seal their Free Companionship contract right there on the spot. There was much crude joking about clauses involving the removal of manhood if Sky breaks his word, but in the end, the papers were signed (and stamped) happily. Sky paid me 10 silver for the service—a very generous rate. It was a chaotic but profitable end to the day.

To Do:

  • Help Caroline finalize the text for the IC City Rules based on the Teletus templates.

  • Pass Izzy's notes regarding the city's lack of defenses (specifically the open staircases and roof access) to Asher immediately.

  • File the copy of Sky and Liddi's Free Companionship contract in the archives.

  • Practice navigating the new drop-box filing system to ensure I don't lose any scrolls.

Journal Entry: December 11, 2025

Location: Ar's Station / The Cafe by the Water

Mood/Title: Reflections on the Past and Tea at the Station

It was a productive yet reflective day. I spent the morning buried in paperwork, managing to get through six caste registration scrolls. Caroline and I have split the workload—she is taking the Warriors, Physicians, and Builders, while I handle the rest. It is a lot of work, but we are making good progress. We attempted to take a break by visiting Lara for the Trade Fair, but it seems we were too early or the dates have changed. We even briefly visited a strange place called Kahiki before returning home to find Asher.

We adjourned to the cafe near the warehouse for tea, where the conversation turned surprisingly personal. Asher asked me to write a piece about myself for the "Rence Trader," a monthly update for the Station. He asked about my history, and I found myself opening up about things I rarely speak of—my father Ares (Ubar of Rarn), the loss of my family and brother Kama to war, and my later adoption by Reno. I even spoke of Kael and the twins, Kyran and Kyra, who were taken from me. It is a heavy history, full of loss, but Asher was kind, reminding me that on Gor, families are often made and remade after the dust of war settles.

I also confessed how much lighter I feel here at the Station compared to Teletus. I finally feel appreciated. Asher complimented the design and layout of the building proposal I submitted (for the new records building), noting that I had saved him time. After feeling like I could never do enough for Muse in Teletus, hearing that my work is actually valued here means the world to me.

There was a rather pathetic display by a male slave named Hanno at the cafe. He was terrified, dirty, and shaking like a leaf. Asher was quite strict with him, and we discussed the need for him to see the Physician, Lady Mirielle, to check for disease before papers are even drawn up. He is a barbarian and seems completely untrained; I told them I find the male barbarians difficult to work with.

I ended the day visiting Wind and Lacey, grateful for the family I do have now.

To Do:

  • Write a biography/introduction of myself for Asher to include in the Rence Trader.

  • Continue working through the remaining Caste registration scrolls.

  • Follow up on the building proposal for the records library.

  • Double-check the actual start dates for the Lara Trade Fair (Dec 14th?).

Journal Entry: December 10, 2025

Location: City of Lara / Hidden Falls Status: Productive and Social

The day began early with a scribe meeting in Lara, and it ended quietly back home in the North. It feels like my life is finally finding a rhythm between these two places.

The Scribe Meeting in Lara I attended a formal meeting at the City of Lara, led by Armand Wayfarer (Head Scribe) and attended by Abraham Jacobson (Chancellor) and others like Trygg Tyran. The meeting focused heavily on the upcoming En'Kara Fair in March 2026. Trygg outlined the schedule:

  • March 9-12: Road to the Fair

  • March 13-22: The Fair proper

  • March 17: Scribe Day (which is when I should plan any special events).

They discussed setting up a pavilion at the college for formal training, potentially involving the Physicians Caste as well. Armand also mentioned some shuffling in the local caste roles—the Prosecutor has left, and the Librarian is missing, leaving vacancies. It sounds like a city in transition, much like me.

I updated them on my situation—leaving Teletus and Var-Kor due to leadership issues and settling in Ar's Station (Hidden Falls). They were supportive. Abraham even asked if I was taking notes, which of course I was. Once a scribe, always a scribe.

A Financial Surprise While in Lara, I ran into Alaric Tengdur, the slaver from Teletus. He surprised me by paying 5 silver for Red (the slave who ran off). I had only paid 2 silver and 10 copper for her originally, so making a profit on a runaway slave was an unexpected delight. He mentioned he might return to explore more later. It closes the chapter on Red nicely—and profitably.

Tea and Trouble with Caroline Later, I met Caroline Gallius and her sister Catherine (Aurora) for tea in Lara. Caroline attempted to summon a slave to serve us, but the only one available was a terrified boy named Hanno. He was completely untrained and shaking with fear. It was painful to watch. Catherine actually bet a gold coin he would mess up, but he managed to pour the tea (and later serve cake) without disaster.

Caroline suggested I buy him to train him properly, but I declined. I need a slave who is already somewhat functional, not a project that shakes when I look at him.

Caroline also dropped some news: Vulcan, the Ubar of Var-Kor, is apparently banned from Ironheart/Lara for trying to "poach" scribes. The politics of these cities never cease to amaze me.

A Quiet Evening I ended the day back in Hidden Falls, working on my lesson plans for the upcoming class in January ("Introduction to Gorean Civilization"). The solitude of the North is a stark contrast to the bustle of Lara, but I appreciate it. I spent some time organizing my inventory (again) and just enjoying the view from my new office window.

I feel like I have a foot in two worlds now: the professional, structured world of the Scribes in Lara, and the rugged, familial world of the Silver Blades in the North. It’s a balance I think I can maintain.

To Do:

  • Review the En'Kara registration documents Trygg sent.

  • Finalize the lesson plan for Week 1 of the Lara class.

  • Keep an eye out for a female slave who doesn't shake like a leaf.

December 9

Journal Entry: December 9, 2025 Location: Ironheart / Hidden Falls Status: Focused on Work

Today felt productive, a day of small victories and necessary organization.

Morning Upgrades I started the day by treating myself to some new outfits from Kitty Creations and Arwen's Creations—lovely blue gowns and some warm fur pieces. The cold here is relentless, and I refuse to freeze, even if I am inside most of the time. I also picked up a new hairstyle from Truth. It’s good to feel put together again.

A New Visitor at the Gate While at the gate in Ironheart, I met a woman named Charoa Kron. She literally landed on top of me (teleport mishaps are always graceful). She was polite but mentioned she is taking a break from roleplay. Interestingly, she mentioned she was once family with Asher Laurent. Small world.

Scribe Work and the Newspaper I ran into Darian el Nairad again near the newsstand. He was promoting his newspaper, and we had a brief chat. He asked if I was a trader, which made me smile—no, just a Magistrate with a shopping habit. He admitted he hadn't seen me at meetings, which makes sense since I'm new. He seems dedicated to his paper and his oasis gallery. It’s inspiring to see others so passionate about their projects.

Family Reunion (Again) I ran into Caroline and Catherine (Aurora) near the market. It was wonderful to see them both. We sat for tea (though the service was… questionable). Caroline summoned a random slave boy named Hanno to serve us. Poor thing was terrified and untrained, shaking like a leaf. Catherine bet a gold coin he would mess up, but he actually managed to pour the tea without disaster.

We talked about everything—the beauty of Ironheart, the lack of training for slaves here (Caroline suggested I buy Hanno, but I declined), and my new role. Caroline mentioned that Asher is working on lore for the sim, which explains why everything feels so authentic.

The conversation turned serious when I mentioned my time in Teletus with Muse. Caroline was sympathetic about how that situation devolved. It’s comforting to have friends who understand the history there without needing every detail explained.

Evening with Father I spent the evening with Wind (Father) back at Hidden Falls. I showed him around Ironheart earlier in the day, including the schoolroom where I plan to teach. He seemed impressed.

Later, we talked about the Var-Kor situation. I’m still banned from their land group, which is annoying. Father promised to handle Vulcan, calling the whole thing "moronic." He also updated me on Red—apparently, she has been online but avoiding us. He's convinced she's an alt using AI and has "busted" her in the groups. It’s a mess, but I’m glad he’s handling the fallout so I don't have to.

We also discussed my teaching plans for Lara in January. I’m excited about it. It feels like a fresh start, a way to build something of my own outside of the city drama.

To Do:

  • Finalize the lesson plan for the Lara class.

  • Check on the status of my Var-Kor rental (and refund!).

  • Maybe look into acquiring a slave who actually knows how to serve tea without shaking.

December 8

Journal Entry: December 8, 2025 Location: Hidden Falls / The North Status: Complicated

Another day of navigating the shifting sands of this new life.

Morning Exploration & Encounters I spent some time with Sirena Lauria (Ingrid) this morning. She’s a visitor, a free woman with strong opinions on the lack of trees and the "contained" nature of our village. We walked through the city, and she commented on everything from the sweets at the bakery (too sugary) to the laundry hanging on the line. It was an interesting perspective—she seemed almost disappointed by the domesticity of it all. Caroline joined us briefly, looking lovely in pink, and was her usual gracious self, though I sensed a bit of tension when Sirena critiqued the land.

We also met Darian el Nairad, a Scribe and newspaper publisher from Ar's Station. He was charming, speaking Italian and inviting me to read his paper. It's good to make connections outside of just warriors and family.

The Var-Kor Conflict The situation with Var-Kor has escalated into absurdity. I was ejected from their land group today despite having paid rent for the month. Bella Shade claimed it was because of "dual grouping" (wearing a Silver Blades tag), which is ridiculous. Father (Wind) was furious when I told him. He called them "fuck heads" and promised to handle it with Vulcan, the Ubar.

It’s frustrating. I tried to be a part of that community, to work as a Magistrate, but the petty power plays are exhausting. Father is right—they are losing good people because of their poor leadership.

Family Time I had a long talk with Father in the Great Hall. We discussed everything from his aging father in RL (stubborn old men!) to the politics of the cities. He’s very supportive of my teaching plans in Lara and encouraged me not to worry about the Var-Kor drama. He reminded me that the Silver Blades go where they are paid, and we have our own sanctuary here in the Fjord.

We also laughed about Red. She’s gone, but her shadow lingers. Wind is convinced she was an alt using AI, and honestly, good riddance. I need real people in my life, not bots.

Future Plans Despite the drama, I’m moving forward. I have my class in Lara coming up in January ("Introduction to Gorean Civilization"). I’m also settling into my role here in the North. It’s quiet, but it’s my kind of quiet. I spent some time organizing my inventory and just breathing.

I’m learning that peace in Gor is rare, and you have to fight to keep it. But with family like this, I think I can hold my ground.

To Do:

  • Prepare lesson plans for the Lara class.

  • Wait for Vulcan to fix the group ejection error (or demand a refund).

  • Look for a new slave—one who is actually present.

Deecember 7

Journal Entry: December 7, 2025 Location: Hidden Falls / The Great Hall Status: Quiet and Contemplative

Today was a quieter day, a welcome contrast to the whirlwind of the past week. It felt good to just be in my new home.

I spent most of the day in my corner of the Great Hall, adding small touches to make it feel more lived-in. I finally resized my desk so it fits the space better, and I even managed to find a comfortable chair from the AF collection to go with it. It’s starting to look like a proper Magistrate's workspace.

The hall was mostly empty, save for the occasional passing of family members. Relia popped in and out, and I saw Asher briefly, though we didn't speak much beyond pleasantries. It’s nice to have that comfortable silence, the kind where you don't feel pressured to entertain.

I did have a moment of reflection about Red. Seeing the empty space where a slave should be kneeling beside my desk is… strange. I don't miss the drama or the deception, but I do miss the presence. It’s quiet. Maybe too quiet.

I also spent some time organizing my inventory. With all the new clothes and furniture I’ve been buying to fit the Northern aesthetic, things were getting a bit chaotic. I found a few old notecards from Teletus—reminders of a life that feels increasingly distant.

Later in the evening, I took a walk around the grounds. The snow here is beautiful, especially under the moonlight. It’s cold, yes, but there’s a crispness to the air that clears the head. I’m starting to understand why Father loves this place so much.

No major events, no political upheavals, just a peaceful day in the North. Sometimes, that’s exactly what is needed.

To Do:

  • Finish organizing the rest of my inventory.

  • Maybe look into getting a rug for my workspace—the stone floor is freezing.

  • Check the mail again tomorrow for any news on the Ladies Tea.

December 6

Journal Entry: December 6, 2025

Location: Hidden Falls / Ironheart Status: Finding My Place

It was a full day, rich with new discoveries and reconnections. I’m finally starting to feel the rhythm of this place.

1. Morning Exploration & Upgrades I started the day by treating myself to some new clothes from Truth and Arwen’s Creations. I bought a beautiful blue gown, a tan one with fur, and a fur cape. The cold here is biting, and my wardrobe needed the update.

I also spent some time with Asher Laurent in Ironheart. He showed me his incredible builds—the warrior zone (raid-ready), the high council building, and the scribe housing. It’s all so detailed and authentic. He offered to adjust things to suit my roleplay, which was very kind.

2. A Reunion with Friends The highlight was hosting Caroline and Catherine Gallius at my new home in Hidden Falls. It was the first time I’ve had guests, and it felt wonderful. We laughed, caught up, and they seemed genuinely relieved to see me settled and safe.

We talked about my family. I told them about being adopted by Wind and how surprisingly protective the Silver Blades (even the assassins!) can be. They were curious about my past, and I shared a bit about my birth father (Ubar of Rarn) and my first adopted father (another Ubar). It felt good to remember those times.

Caroline mentioned a "Ladies Tea" happening in Olni on December 12th, hosted by Talora. She invited me, and I think I’ll go. It would be nice to meet other high-caste women.

3. An Encounter with Sphere Later, while walking with Caroline in Ar's Station, we met Sphere Proto, an Elder Scribe. He was charming and welcomed me warmly to the caste. We were joined by Deme (MarkJoseph416), who I knew from Teletus. It was interesting to see him here—he seems to have matured and is now a Rarius. We reminisced a bit about the "old days" and the corruption we left behind in Teletus.

4. A Quiet Evening I ended the night back at Ironheart with Caroline. We sat by the fire in the Scribe Hall, just talking. She asked about my time with Muse in Teletus. I admitted that it wasn't what I hoped for—I was less of an advisor and more of a glorified follower. Caroline was sympathetic. She believes my skills will be better utilized here under the new Governor.

We both ended up dozing off on the couch by the fire. It was peaceful. I realized how much I missed having a community like this—people who actually care about your well-being and respect your skills.

I’m still adjusting to life without slaves, but honestly? It’s less stressful. I can focus on my work and my friends without worrying about who is lying to me or misbehaving.

To Do:

  • Prepare for the Ladies Tea in Olni (find a suitable dress!).

  • Continue setting up my office in Ironheart.

  • Check in with Wind about the "Winter Patrol" guards.

December 5

 Journal Entry: December 4, 2025

Location: Hidden Falls / Ironheart Status: Exploring and Expanding

Today was a mix of quiet reflection and new discoveries.

1. The Great Hall and Household Updates I spent some time with Father (Wind) in the new Great Hall. It truly is magnificent—huge timber beams, roaring fires, and a rugged, Northern feel that is slowly growing on me. We discussed the layout, and he suggested I could have a room upstairs or keep my separate house. For now, I like having my own space, but the warmth of the hall is tempting.

We also discussed the Red situation again. It’s still a sore spot. Wind is adamant that she was an alt using AI to generate her posts, and frankly, the evidence is overwhelming. She hasn't been online, likely knowing she's been caught. It’s disappointing, but I’m moving on.

2. A Visit to Ironheart Later, I took a trip to Ironheart with Caroline Gallius. She gave me a wonderful tour of the sim. It’s a beautifully constructed place, very authentic to the lore, with a distinct warrior zone built for raids, a high council building, and lovely living areas.

Caroline introduced me to the layout—the market square, the bathhouses, the scribe apartments. It feels like a community that is trying to build something lasting, "ground zero" as she put it. It was refreshing to see her passion for it. We talked about the possibility of me teaching there, perhaps not living there but visiting as a guest lecturer. It’s an appealing thought.

3. Politics and Gossip Caroline dropped a bit of a bombshell: Vulcan, the Ubar of Var-Kor, is banned from Ironheart. Apparently, he was caught trying to "poach" a scribe from their land while visiting. It’s just another layer of the complex politics between these cities.

4. A Strange Encounter Back in Var-Kor, I ran into a man named Đ'arrius who was chasing a "panther girl" through the city streets. He claimed she was disguised as a free woman but carrying weapons. It was a bizarre interaction—he seemed almost amused by my confusion. I’m still not entirely sure what to make of it, but it’s a reminder that even in a "safe" city, things can get chaotic quickly.

5. Ending the Day I ended the evening quietly, just observing the life of the city. I saw Selennor trying to gamble his way into some coin with Rist, and Drusus tending to Angelica. It’s nice to just watch sometimes, to see the stories of others unfolding around me without being in the center of the storm.

I feel settled. No slaves, no immediate crises, just my work and my family. It’s a good place to be.

Action Items:

  • Follow up on the teaching opportunity in Ironheart.

  • Continue decorating my corner of the Great Hall.

  • Stay alert for any more "panther" activity in the city.

December 4

Journal Entry: December 4, 2025

Location: Hidden Falls / The Great Hall Status: Disappointed but Resolute

The day began with awe and ended with a heavy, necessary cleansing of my household.

1. The Great Hall of the North Father (Wind) revealed the new main building for our homestead today—a massive, imposing Great Hall. It is breathtaking, a true fortress of the North with high ceilings, heavy timber, and two massive fireplaces to combat the freezing temperatures.

He offered me a room upstairs or the choice to keep my separate house. For now, I’ve claimed a corner of the main hall as my own little workspace with a desk. It feels right to be close to the center of the family's activity. Lacey and I later went to Kitty Creations to find furniture to fill the space, spotting a beautiful bedroom set and a fireplace that would fit perfectly.

We also named the NPC guards "The Winter Patrol." It’s starting to feel like a real stronghold.

2. The Betrayal of Red I wanted so badly for Red to be the one. I thought I had finally found a girl worth training, someone with potential. But today, the truth came out, and it was undeniable.

Wind and Lacey presented proof that she hasn't been writing her own words. She has been using an AI program to generate her responses—perfect grammar and length that didn't match her OOC typing at all. Worse than the laziness was the lying. She lied about her background, and she lied about the money Wind gave her to buy a proper silk outfit. He gave her 500L, and she claimed to me she couldn't afford the dress.

I can deal with a girl who makes mistakes. I cannot deal with a liar. Trust is the currency of the collar, and she spent hers.

Lacey banned her from the estate. I made the hard decision to sign her papers over. We didn’t just sell her; Wind posted in the groups that she is "free for the taking" to any man who can legally capture her. It is a harsh lesson, but a necessary one.

As for Safi, she has not appeared. Wind has forwarded her description to the "Flesh Eaters." If she doesn't show soon, she is lost.

3. Politics and Old Acquaintances We spent time discussing the laws of Var-Kor. I found a ridiculous rule in the city books stating that a Free Companion cannot be raped. Izzy and I had a good laugh at the absurdity of it—it’s clearly an old, outdated rule that protects men from consequences. Izzy suggested I challenge the Ubar on it, blaming the Silver Blades for the inquiry to keep the heat off me.

Altos Stark also came up in conversation. Father believes Altos has been lying about his real-world credentials (claiming to be a pilot). It paints a picture of a flake. Strangely enough, Altos visited me later in the day. It was brief and slightly awkward; he gave me "Cold Breath" (a visual effect for the cold) and fur boots, then hugged me and left. I’m not sure where I stand with him, but Father’s warning sticks in my mind.

4. Family Moments Despite the drama, there were moments of levity. Father was suffering from "the revenge of the chili" Lacey made, which had us all laughing. He also reminded me that the family has real lives—jobs, church, kids—so they won't be on every day. It’s good to know. I can relax and not worry if the hall is quiet sometimes.

I am down to zero slaves again, but I feel lighter. I have my title, my family, and a warm corner in the Great Hall.

Action Items:

  • Finish decorating my corner of the Hall.

  • Keep an eye out for the new initiate, Ruben.

  • Avoid "The Revenge of the Chili."

December 3

Journal Entry: December 3, 2025

Location: Var-Kor (Hidden Falls) Status: Appointed Magistrate

Summary of the Day

Today marked a significant turning point in my time here. I have officially taken up the Robes of the Magistrate within Var-Kor.

1. The Oath and the Head of Caste I met with Declan, the Head of the Scribes, in his office. He formally swore me in. I recited the Oath of the Scribe, pledging my life and hand to the honor of the Caste, to preserve knowledge, and to act with integrity.

My specific duties were laid out immediately:

  • Mentorship: I have been assigned an initiate named Ruben. I am to oversee his daily coursework and report any tardiness immediately.

  • Legal Analysis: I was handed the Var-Kor / Turmus Mercantile Accord to analyze for legal and diplomatic interpretation. This is my first "homework" assignment.

  • Intelligence: I received files on the caste expulsion of Catherine and Caroline Gallius.

2. The First Magistrate Following my swearing-in, I established my new office. I was visited by Gil Levee, the First Magistrate of Var-Kor. He was welcoming, noting that the city has enough work for "two sets of blue robes." He offered his mentorship and an open door.

Personal Victory: Gil recognized Red from her time on the docks before I owned her. He explicitly complimented me on how well she has been trained and how "polished" she has become. It validates the effort I have put into her.

3. Household Updates (Red)

  • Technical: We resolved the malfunction with Red's collar (script errors), and I updated her titler to read "Magistrate Evans' girl."

  • Domestic: I purchased new furniture (AF collection—kitchen and bed) to make the house feel more like a home. Red seems pleased with the changes and eager to serve in the new space.

4. Evening Politics & Celebration I ended the day celebrating in the streets with the Silver Blades (Izzy and Bam Bam). It was a lively evening that involved a confrontation with a warrior named Koded Ryu, who was harassing free women (Saffy). Izzy handled it by challenging him to the arena rather than allowing a street brawl.

Note on Protocol: A minor issue arose regarding serving order. I requested tea, but the Northern custom generally dictates men are served ale first. I will need to clarify with Father (Wind) if his men take precedence over me in public settings, though Red's instinct to serve me first was noted as loyal.

Action Items:

  • Review the Mercantile Accord.

  • Watch for the arrival of Initiate Ruben.

  • Acquire warm blankets for Red.

December 2

Journal Entry: December 2, 2025

Location: Hidden Falls / The North Status: Settling In

Today was mostly about trying to carve out a space here in this frozen land. The new homestead, Hidden Falls, is undeniably beautiful—thick forests, ancient altars, and snow that never seems to stop—but it needs work to feel like mine.

I spent hours terraforming the land around my house spot. It’s tedious work—lowering hills, fixing water puddles, moving trees to clear the view—but necessary. Lacey mentioned I need Wind (Father) to officially make me an Estate Manager so I can edit the pre-existing village structures properly. Until then, I am doing what I can with my 1,000 prim allowance.

The real drama of the day happened in the main hall.

Red tried to serve Father ale, and it… did not go well. In the cities, you just hand someone a drink. Here, everything is a ritual. She missed checking the rim, didn’t kiss the horn, and whispered the prayer instead of announcing it. Father—being Father—threw the horn against the wall. Twice.

I felt for her. She was terrified, shaking in her silks, but she didn’t break. Lacey helped guide her, and by the third try, Red got it perfect. She even improvised a prayer for Father’s victory in battle that actually seemed to impress him. He even suggested she might be put in charge of cleaning the hall after parties—a backhanded compliment, but a compliment nonetheless.

Then, things got political. A guard named Vlad showed up with rumors that Muse back in Teletus might be hiring mercenaries to kidnap me. Father laughed it off. He called Teletus weak and reminded everyone that the Silver Blades control most of the mercenary contracts anyway. I’m trying not to let it bother me. I have Izzy and the Blades for protection, and honestly, if Muse wants to try dragging me back from the North, good luck to her.

We also went shopping. Red’s animal print rags just didn’t fit the aesthetic here, so Lacey took us to Kitty Creations. We found a beautiful light blue silk outfit that suits her much better, though we have to wait on funds to actually buy it.

I am still worried about Safi. She hasn’t shown up yet. Father was blunt: if she isn’t here in 48 hours, he’s reporting her to the "Flesh Eaters" as a runaway. I hate the thought of that, but I can’t protect a girl who isn’t here.

On a brighter note, I might have a job. There’s a scroll request from Var-Kor for a Scribe, but Wind thinks I should work directly for the Silver Blades as their Scribe. I haven't decided yet.

For now, I need sleep. The wind outside is howling, but the fire is warm.

To Do:

  • Get Estate Manager rights from Wind.

  • Buy the blue silk for Red.

  • Decide on the Scribe position.

  • Pray Safi shows up before the deadline.

December 1

Journal Entry: December 1, 2025

Location: The North (New Homestead) Mood: Exhausted but hopeful

It has been such a long, chaotic day, but finally, I think we have landed somewhere safe.

Leaving Teletus is officially behind me. I saw the notifications about the old rentals expiring and over-prim limits for the others, and honestly, it just felt like watching a door close on a stressful chapter. I am done with the bullying and the politics there.

We had a brief stop in Var-Kor. I tried to set up a rental there, but it just wasn't right—prim limits were tight, and things were missing. But then, Father (Wind) surprised us all. He didn't just find a spot; he bought a whole Homestead.

It is beautiful, though completely different from what I am used to. It is a Northern setting—Torvaldsland style. There is snow everywhere, thick forests, and a rugged, raw beauty to it. It’s freezing, though! I realized almost immediately that I need to find my winter clothes, and poor Red definitely needs a pair of boots.

Father gave me a spot for my house with a 1,000 prim limit, which is incredibly generous. I spent a good portion of the evening just trying to get the house placed right (there was a stubborn pile of snow blocking the porch view for a while) and decorating it to feel like my home. It’s starting to come together.

The biggest adjustment is going to be the culture here. The Silver Blades are protecting us, which is a relief, but Father is strict. Very strict.

Lacey (Father’s girl) has been wonderful. She took Red under her wing today to teach her the "Northern Serve." It is so much more ritualistic than the city serving I’m used to. Red has to learn to serve ale in a horn, check the rim against her flesh, kiss it, and offer a prayer—all while describing her actions in detail (Father demands at least four sentences per post, no lazy animations).

I watched Red try her best. She was nervous, and I know the language barrier is hard for her sometimes, but she did well. Lacey was patient, and even though Father is intimidating with his demands for perfection, I think this structure will be good for Red. She seems happy to be here with me.

I still haven't seen Safi. I hope she makes it here soon so I can get the paperwork settled for both of them.

For now, I am sitting in my new living room, listening to the wind outside. It’s cold, but for the first time in a while, I feel safe. I think I’m going to like being a daughter of the North.

To Do:

  • Buy boots for Red.

  • Finish the upstairs decoration.

  • Get the official application paperwork done for the girls.

  • Learn more about the Northern customs so I don't embarrass Father.
