[13:10] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) gazes upon the horizon and determines that it must be about time for the council, he leads his loyal tarn, Crimson, to the town square. The bird's wings fold gracefully as it lands on the side of the small gathering, its presence commanding yet serene. Valerius nods at the familiar faces, acknowledging that he is slightly late, his eyes scanning the crowd for any signs of impatience or concern. "Friends and established citizens," he greets them with a warm smile, his voice carrying a tone of sincerity and respect. He climbs down from his tarn, the soft rustle of his cloak and the clink of his sword belt breaking the quiet of the gathering. As he walks by their sides, his boots clicking softly on the cobblestone ground, he takes in the atmosphere of the town square – the banners fluttering in the gentle breeze, the scent of freshly baked bread from a nearby bakery, and the distant sound of a minstrel's tune. The air is filled with the sounds of hushed conversations and the occasional clink of a cup, as

[13:10] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx):  the council members prepare to discuss the matters that affect their beloved city of Ar Station, their faces a mix of determination and concern as they await Valerius's input and leadership.

The chain of command scroll that had been sent out earlier will have to wait and we will hold one meeting that will cover all of it, as it will be to long for this meeting with all the other topics we each have. From the scribes can we start with you Sphere?"

[13:19] zCS # [Mod] CharlotteFrees Resident switched from [OOC] to [RP].

[13:19] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) pushes both heavy wooden doors, the sound of the hinges creaking echoing through the grand entrance of the square council chamber. He acknowledges the presence of scribes, builders, and green cast members alike, their faces a mix of curiosity and anticipation. The doors swing open to reveal the velvety red color of his own cast's section, the rich fabric of the banners hanging from the walls adding to the solemn atmosphere. He takes his seat on the stone steps, the cool stone beneath him a welcome contrast to the warmth of the room. To his left, Samuel sits in the green cast section, his eyes scanning the room with a keen, observant gaze. Sphere and Lady Kati face him in the scribes section, their quills poised above parchment, ready to take notes. To his right, Asher sits in the beige builder section of the square council chamber, his weathered hands clasped together as he prepares to speak. Valerius's ears perk up as Asher breaks the silence, his voice carrying a tone of urgency and importance as he

[13:19] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx):  lays out the subjects of that day's gathering. The air is thick with anticipation as the council members lean forward, ready to discuss the matters at hand and find solutions for the betterment of Ar Station, the flickering light of the oil lamps casting shadows across the room as they await the start of the council proceedings.

[13:21] Sphere Proto got to his feet looking around, "Thank you members of the council. We have seen a welcome growth of the citizens of Ar's Station and as usual these brings work for us. I please pleasantly surprised to hear we had a commander to represent the caste of rarii of the city. I hope for an introduction. My firmware point of attention is our ambassador. I have added a document with basic information about our city and it's  something that needs some with still. It's what I want each ambassador to use when presenting our city to other cities he or she will be visiting. I like to hear your thoughts and concern and most importantly, hear what your expecations are for cities we want to have in a merchant allance"

[13:27] Asher Laurent smiles, "From my point of view how much about Ar's Station does the ambassador know, is she a good representation of Ar's Station, does she know our history, it is something that is a passion of hers?" looks over the scroll that he was handed by Sphere, "I do not believe the scroll, titled Ar's Station information to use - Ambassador (v0.01) is complete and informative of the Station, I have written one that I will hand out now that is detailed and that any ambassador that is going to stand up and in front of this Station should know off by heart." hands one to each to read.

[13:28] Second Life: Asher Laurent gave you Ambassador's Record and Reference.

[13:30] Relia Wulfloard (jaime.michalski) is online.

[13:30] Relia Wulfloard (jaime.michalski) is offline.

[13:30] Sphere Proto accepts the document Asher handed out, "Thank you for that. I agree my document was far from complete and I will add what is in yours. Lady Jacquie is new to the position but is very eager to get started. I have contacted several scribes who I've known to be capable ambassadors, but unfortunately they already had prior engagements.."

[13:33] Samuel Theodore Massey (samvimesofank) cleans his glasses and studies the paper diligently frowning now and then. "I concur with Asher and may also say that our history is going to expand as we are forging the cities future and will sculpt the future of this city. History was never a static thing, nor are alliances. They shift and never stay the same. As such alliances are as fragile and as shifting as the tides." He compares each documents calmly. "Also my caste has little to do with anything outside of city except in cases of pandemics or other threats to the well being of the citizens."

[13:34] Asher Laurent did look at the other two forms, "The two other scrolls Sphere we can talk about later if you like, as I don't want to take to much time on this one subject, if that is alright with everyone?" as he listened to Samuel and agreed.

[13:35] alura (siobhan.lisle) set the pitcher to the table, and knelt as the meeting was underway and service was not required of her.

[13:36] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) extends a hand to grab the scroll that is extended to him by Asher, his fingers wrapping around the worn parchment with a sense of urgency. He carefully proceeds to break the seal, his eyes scanning the lines with a keen, focused gaze. The concern about Ar Station's current ambassador and her ability to properly represent the city becomes evident as he reads each line, his brow furrowing and his lips tightening with worry. A few lines, in particular, make his eyebrows wave with concern, the weight of the situation sinking in. His fingers brush through the thick darkness of his beard as he lowers the scroll, his mind racing with possible solutions and strategies to address the ambassador's shortcomings. He observes Samuel's furrowed brow, the lines etched deep into his face, as he ponders the implications of the ambassador's actions. Sphere's fidgeting hands and the way he avoids eye contact hint at his anxiety, while Lady Kati's thoughtful gaze and the slight tilt of her head suggest she is considering

[13:36] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx):  her own ideas. Valerius's mind races, his determination to protect the interests of Ar Station unwavering as he tries to read the other council members' emotions on the subject, the air in the chamber thick with the weight of their collective concern.

[13:49] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) listens intently to Asher as he expresses the concern to add Drusus Amadeus Titus, the head of the merchants, to the council. Knowing the man to be honorable and competent, Valerius rises up from his seat, his voice carrying a loud and clear resonance that fills the chamber. "Yes!" he says, casting his voice forward with a sense of conviction, his eyes scanning the faces of the other council members to gauge their reactions. The chamber falls silent for a moment, the weight of his endorsement sinking in as the other members consider the proposal. Valerius's eyes meet Asher's, a silent agreement passing between them, as they both hope that Drusus's addition will bring a fresh perspective and valuable expertise to the council's deliberations. The flickering light of the oil lamps casts shadows across the room, highlighting the expressions of the other council members – some nodding in agreement, while others exchange skeptical glances. Valerius sits back down, his mind already racing with the potential

[13:49] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx):  benefits of Drusus's involvement, his determination to ensure the best possible outcome for Ar Station unwavering.

[13:53] Samuel Theodore Massey (samvimesofank) nods and puts the papers away for later possible use. After that he starts speaking  "Nothing special going on within our caste, apart that we got a new physician in our ranks, Lady Serena Titus. [14:01] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) attention rotates toward Samuel as this one has no major points to bring to the council other than the news of a new talented recruit joining their ranks. The council chamber falls into a brief silence as Samuel's words hang in the air, the flickering light of the oil lamps casting a warm glow on the faces of the members. No major changes also meant no major conflicts and stability, which brought a sense of relief to Valerius, who was not too much concerned to learn this. A small smile played on his lips as he listened to Samuel's report, appreciating the steady progress and the continued growth of their community. The air in the council chamber was calm, a sense of contentment settling over the members as they acknowledged the positive developments in their city. Valerius's gaze shifted to the new recruit's name on the parchment, his mind already considering how this new talent could contribute to the strength of Ar Station. Now as people flood the Station as word has got out of the repairs and reclaiming of the outpost we as heads of our caste need to be mindful of who will settle here with us." he hands each of them a scroll to read over, "This is a protocol that each of you can implement and follow, it is to be helpful for you and us as a whole." he looks back to Valerius, "The Home Stone is on it's way back to us, we will get word ahead of time of the arrival of it and some of our people back home. The fort is being refilled as I speak and Valerius you will have to oversee that and work with us builders. Out the front of the fort we will be having

[14:17] Asher Laurent:  a celebration after the Stone has been set. This will be a sensitive time as most will be out the front, eyes have to be safety from the warriors, if you like we builders can meet with you at anytime and talk more in detail how it will play out?"

[14:24] Vαlєяiυs Tяiαяiυs (xxhenriusxsevariusxx) listens intently to Asher as this one rises up from his seat and extends another scroll, explaining the imminent arrival of the Homestone to Ar Station. The flickering light of the oil lamps casts shadows across his face, highlighting the determination in his eyes. The Voice of the High Council - January 31

Journal Entry: 2026/01/31 Location: Ar's Station Mood/Title: The Voice of the High Council

The day was dominated by the weight of leadership as the High Council convened for our second formal meeting. The air in the council chamber was thick with anticipation, flickering oil lamps casting long shadows against the banners of our respective castes. As the Governor's Scribe, I sat ready with my quills to record the decisions that will sculpt the future of the Station.

The session was productive, though not without its points of contention. We spent considerable time refining the protocols for our Ambassadors. Asher was firm in his belief that the current documentation was incomplete; he provided a more rigorous "Ambassador's Record and Reference" that he expects our representatives to know by heart. We also formally voted to admit Drusus Amadeus Titus (Head of the Merchants) to the Council, ensuring the Scarlet, Blue, and Green castes are joined by the vital voice of trade.

Commander Valerius Triarius shared encouraging news regarding our defenses: a former Captain of Ar, Hector Clegane, has joined the Scarlet Caste. With the Home Stone reportedly on its way back to us, these reinforcements are timely. Asher and Valerius will be coordinating closely on the refitting of the fort to prepare for the celebration that will follow the Stone's arrival.

High Council Meeting Summary

  • Magistrate/Scribe: Discussion on the killing report involving "Lucifer"; Sphere Proto to finalize documentation.

  • Ambassadorial: Integration of Sphere’s and Asher’s scrolls into a master reference for Lady Jacquie.

  • Merchant Caste: Unanimous vote to include Drusus on the Council starting next meeting.

  • Physician Caste: Lady Serena Titus confirmed as a new recruit; focus remains on Station health and infectious monitoring.

  • Scarlet Caste: Hector Clegane recruited; Valerius to oversee fort security for the Home Stone ceremony.

  • Builder Caste: Reiteration that only Builders handle keys for shops and housing to maintain municipal order.

To Do:

  • Governor’s Report: Transcribe the meeting minutes and deliver them to the Governor’s office immediately.

  • Archive Filing: File the new "Protection vs Adoption" scrolls provided by Charlotte.

  • Personal Coordination: Meet with Odette at her new office over the candy shop—check on her registration status.

  • Recruitment Tracking: Update the registry with the names of our new citizens and caste members.

Bureaucracy and Family Bonds - January 30

Journal Entry: 2026/01/30 Location: Ironheart / Lara II / Ar's Station Mood/Title: Bureaucracy and Family Bonds

The day began with a whirlwind of transitions between regions. I spent a good portion of the morning helping Odette navigate the "horrid maze" of our city to reach the Scribery. It’s a reminder that while the Station is beautiful, its layout can be a labyrinth for the uninitiated. Odette is eager to become "legitimate" here, though she had quite a few pointed questions about our current registration forms—particularly the sections that seem to blend Home Stone affirmations with OOC schedules. I can’t say I blame her for the "pffft"; as a Scribe, she has an eye for proper documentation. We toured the Archive, and she seemed impressed with the peace we've managed to carve out for our caste, despite the curious lack of proper stools in the High Caste area.

The evening was spent in a much-needed conversation with my son, Asher. We spoke of the upcoming Council meeting and his plans to nominate Magnus for Station Steward—a role that would put another of our family in the Building Caste with the Governor’s ear. It feels like our presence here is truly solidifying. On a more personal note, Asher checked in on my heart. It’s been a strange road lately with potential suitors vanishing or worse, but I’ve learned to keep my ego out of it. As I told him, a week-long courtship is just a "nice vacation." I’m far more concerned with my role as an advisor and teacher.

To Do:

  • Scribe Coordination: Meet with Sphere Proto to discuss my teaching schedule and get the latest on Scribe activities.

  • Legion's Status: Investigate why Legion was removed from the group and if it aligns with my own "further is better" instincts.

  • Ambassador Paperwork: Review the "Ar's Station information - Ambassador (v0.01)" scroll sent by Sphere.

  • Odette's Registration: Follow up with Caroline regarding Odette’s retirement papers and the specific "Protection vs Adoption" forms.

Circles of Conversation and Subtle Discipline - January 29

Journal Entry: 2026/01/29 Location: Ar's Station Mood/Title: Circles of Conversation and Subtle Discipline

The morning at the docks was quite lively, filled with the warmth of shared black wine and the pleasant company of Lady Caroline and Lady Jacquie. It seems Ar's Station is becoming a true hub for industrious women; I was delighted to hear from Lady Odette that she has secured an office for the "Free Woman's Dance Circle"—and right over the candy shop, no less! I suspect she’ll need to keep a close eye on the girls to ensure they don’t spend their copper on sweets between rehearsals.

The conversation at the cafe turned toward the weight of our roles. Jacquie is considering the position of Ambassador, and Caroline, ever the seasoned Scribe, offered her some grounding advice. It's fascinating to watch the subtle power dynamics—Jacquie's firm hand with her slave, Kash, serves as a stark reminder of the Gorean order we uphold. Even in a relaxed setting, the chain and the collar are never far from mind.

Andros Mosely made another appearance, though he nearly stepped into a tharlarion pit by accidentally calling Lady Jacquie "Sir." A dangerous slip of the tongue, even if unintentional! Caroline took him under her wing to help him register his slave and show him to the Hall. Between postal duties and Magistrate ambitions, he certainly keeps himself busy.

To Do:

  • VKC Pets Update: Review the notecard from Enrico Genosse about the VKC closing. I need to decide if I’m going to update the pets or let them be.

  • Ambassadorial Guidance: If Lady Jacquie follows through with the Ambassador role, I should gather some of my old Magistrate notes to help her navigate treaties.

  • The Dance Circle: Visit Odette’s new office once she's unpacked to see how the space is shaping up.

  • Caste Business: Check the mailbox; it seems I have some unpacking and sorting to do with those new Freedom Creations items.

Old Faces and New Ambitions - January 28

Journal Entry: 2026/01/28 Location: Ar's Station Mood/Title: Old Faces and New Ambitions

The morning air at the port was thick with the scent of salt and the sound of distant ship bells. I spent much of my time navigating the social waters of the Scribe caste. A woman named Rajani approached me, seeking the Head of Caste—Sphere Proto. It was amusing to see her "steal the thunder" of a visiting Magistrate, but I was happy to point her in the right direction. It seems Sphere is a busy man, only available in four-hour windows, which left me to handle the preliminary introductions for Legion Dryden. Legion is a Scribe with a wealth of experience from Ar and Selnar, and he’s keen on joining us as a Magistrate. I’ve already got a perfect office in mind for him.

Later, a truly delightful surprise: I ran into Andros Mosely! Seeing a familiar face in the winding streets of the Station always warms the heart. My daughter, Caroline, was giving him a tour. He’s still a Merchant at heart but mentioned an interest in becoming a Merchant Magistrate. It’s a niche that would serve the city well, especially with the Sardar Fair and other carnivals on the horizon. The city is growing, the "family" is expanding, and for a moment, the twisty turns of the Station felt a little more like home.

To Do:

  • Message for Sphere: Ensure Sphere Proto gets Legion Dryden’s credentials and note regarding his interest in the Magistrate position.

  • Magistrate Office: Draft a proposal for the office space I mentioned to Legion; check if it meets the requirements for a high-caste workspace.

  • Sardar Fair: Start a file on the upcoming Sardar Fair. If the city is to participate, we need to coordinate with the Merchant Caste (perhaps Andros or Lady Bea).

  • Merchant Magistrate Research: Look up the specific protocols for Merchant Magistrates to better advise Andros on his "settling" process.

Connections and Cautions at the Docks - January 27

Journal Entry: 2026/01/27 Location: Ar's Station Mood/Title: Connections and Cautions at the Docks

The morning began with the usual flurry of updates and schedules, but the highlight was the social life blooming at the port. I had the pleasure of meeting Lady Sevasti of the Red Caste. We shared a quiet moment at the cafe, "people watching" and discussing our mutual respect for the intricate details required by our respective castes—Scribes and Warriors. It’s refreshing to find another single woman in the city; she seems focused on organization and teaching the young, and I truly hope we become friends.

The cafe was a theater of Gorean life today. Sitra, the slave girl, was particularly impressive with her service—even folding a napkin into the shape of a bird for Lady Sevasti. I also spoke with a traveler’s girl named Midnite, whose Master, Nameless, is a rarius looking for a Home Stone. I advised her to be cautious wandering alone and suggested her Master speak with the Commander. There was even a wandering blade, Robert R. Hale, who seemed respectful enough for a "wandering katana." It is rewarding to see people opening their minds, just as I hope my students at Lara’s College do.

To Do:

  • Meeting Transcripts: Review the SCoG* meeting transcripts sent by Trygg Tyran.

  • Incident Report: Look into the report from Sphere Proto regarding the killing in Ar's Station involving "Lucifer."

  • Lara's College: Continue preparing for Monday's classes, focusing on the feedback from today’s conversation about social shifts and personal learning.

  • Lunch: Remember to actually make lunch next time before the day gets away from me!

The Burden of Scarlet - January 26

Journal Entry: 2026/01/26 Location: Ironheart / Lara II Mood/Title: The Burden of Scarlet

The day was defined by the transition from the quiet inquiries of students to the heavy weight of military history. In the morning, I sat with Dina, Luca, and Sam, navigating their questions about the "Back to Basics" (BTB) philosophy and the struggle to reconcile ancient Gorean traditions with the modern perspectives brought by those from Earth. It is a delicate balance—teaching them that while a slave may be property, there is a complex social structure and "Home Stone" logic that governs our every move. Sam's struggles with his sight and hearing remind me of how much we take for granted in this world; I hope the note cards I provided help him find his way.

By evening, the tone shifted. I held a formal session on Military Science and the Scarlet Caste for a newcomer named Ross. We stripped away the romanticized glory of the warrior to reveal the "walls of the city made flesh." We spoke of the Code of the Sword, the predatory nature of the Tarn, and the brutal efficiency of the Phalanx. It is vital that they understand: a Warrior is not a killer, but a disciplined extension of the Law. Without the Scarlet, the Blue Caste has no ink, and the High Council has no voice. Ross seems eager, especially given his new role as a guard. I hope he takes the assignment to watch the arena seriously; there is much to be learned in the silence between strikes.

To Do:

  • Check on Braille/Translation options: See if there are more accessible ways for Sam to "read" the Gorean scrolls.

  • Prepare for next week: Draft the lesson on Gorean Geography (Voltai Mountains, Thassa Sea, and the wilderness).

  • Contract Review: If Ross visits Ar's Station, offer to help him review the terms of his guard contract.

  • Personal Reading: Continue listening to Book #23 on Audible.

Mourning and Moving Parts - January 25

Journal Entry: 2026/01/25 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) Mood/Title: Mourning and Moving Parts

The grief is a heavy cloak today. I spent much of the morning drifting through the city, my heart still raw from Father's funeral. I found myself in the tea shop, seeking the small comfort of a warm cup, only to find my eyes welling with tears. I moved to the water's edge to compose myself, unwilling to let the bustling city see the Governor's Scribe so fragile. It was there I met Carmina Titus, a shop owner with a kind spirit and a beautiful sense of style. She showed me Carola’s shop and even shared her seamstress's contact—it is small kindnesses like these that keep me anchored.

The city itself is in a state of flux. Magnus mentioned he will soon be stepping down from his position at the Tavern to take on a new role that Asher is currently defining. I am happy for his excitement, even if it feels like yet another change in a week of endings. I also encountered a new woman in town, Talina, who is seeking employment rather than a collar. It was interesting to watch the dynamic between her and Lady Domi; there is a certain fire in her that I recognize. Between administrative duties and technical updates, I spent hours lost in the TRUTH boutique, trying on countless hair demos—Audacity, Enigmatic, Instinct—searching for a look that matches this strange, transitional period of my life.

To Do:

  • Follow up with Magnus regarding his new position after the next Council Meeting.

  • Reach out to Carmina’s seamstress to discuss some new commissions for the Sardar Fair.

  • Organize the "Titus Family" and "Notice of Commencement" documents into the city archives.

High Rhythms and High Fashion - January 24

Journal Entry: 2026/01/24 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: High Rhythms and High Fashion

The Station was bustling this morning, almost as if the city itself was preparing for something grand. I spent a good deal of time today balancing my administrative duties with a bit of necessary self-care and style adjustment. I finally sat down to configure the Aditi scarf and spent some time with the TRUTH Kaijah HUD to refine my current look. It is a small thing, but appearing as a Scribe of standing requires a certain attention to detail that I find both grounding and necessary.

Beyond my own mirrors, the city registry is humming. I noted many familiar faces active today—Asher, Magnus, and Kar are all present and accounted for. I also received a few interesting documents: an info pamphlet regarding a Tea Room Traders Home for Free Women and a landmark for the ArStation Event Room from Mattis. It seems the "skeleton" of our city is growing stronger with every new initiative. I did have to decline yet another meter update box; these technical shifts are constant, but I am determined not to let them distract from the work at hand.

To Do:

  • Review the "Tea Room Traders Home" info pamphlet for any potential collaboration with the Governor’s office.

  • Inspect the ArStation Event Room to see if it’s suitable for my next lecture on specialized sub-castes.

  • Reach out to Mattis Vella to discuss the details of the Event Room landmark he shared.

Anchored in Routine - January 23

Journal Entry: 2026/01/23 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) Mood/Title: Anchored in Routine

Today I found myself leaning into the familiar structures of the Station, seeking a bit of stability after the emotional weight of the past few days. The city remains a steady hum of activity; I saw Asher, Kar, and Magnus all tending to their duties as I logged into the region. Caroline was present as well, though she stepped away later in the morning. It is a quiet comfort to see the familiar names on my roster, even when we do not speak directly—it reminds me that the skeleton of our society remains intact.

Technical matters required some attention again today. I spent some time configuring my TRUTH Kaijah and Rain styles, ensuring the textures and HUDs were properly synchronized for my role. The zCS system continues to prompt for updates, and I had to detach and re-attach my meter to clear a few lingering errors. It is a small, repetitive chore, but necessary to remain active within the region's laws.

To Do:

  • Finalize my Scribe preparations for the upcoming weekend cycle.

  • Reach out to Caroline to see if she found the "Marketplace socks" she was searching for.

  • Update the Station’s registry with the latest citizen active times noted this morning.

Between Tears and Textures - January 22

Journal Entry: 2026/01/22 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Truth Hair / West Burnham Mood/Title: Between Tears and Textures

Today has been a day of profound emotional exhaustion, as the weight of my father’s funeral yesterday finally settled over me. I found myself drifting through the city and various shops, moving between a deep desire to cry and the simple need to go back to bed. I spent a great deal of time experimenting with my appearance—testing new "Rain" fatpack styles from Truth and a delicate "Daisy" veil set from OYI. I even used a "Peek & Chic" scanning HUD to study the intricate details of Carola's attire; sometimes focusing on the threads and weaves of Gorean silk is the only way to quiet the mind.

In the midst of my grief, I had a strange encounter with a man named Mirko Ocello. He approached me with a kindness that felt out of place in the harshness of the ruins, offering to take me surfing in a modern sim to clear my head. He spoke of "class" and "long hair," things he couldn't possibly know from my profile. I shared with him the news of my father’s passing, and he was quite sympathetic. Though I wasn't in the best spirits for company, I allowed him to add me. It’s a strange world where one minute you are a Magistrate of Gor, and the next, you are being invited to catch waves in California.

To Do:

  • Organize the "Tavia Robes" (Blue) and the new Truth "Rain" fatpack into my formal Scribe wardrobe.

  • Reach out to Caroline and Catherine—I need the support of my daughters more than ever right now.

The Road to the Sardar & Scribe Solidarity - January 21

Journal Entry: 2026/01/21 Location: Isle of Teletus / Ar's Station (Ironheart) Mood/Title: The Road to the Sardar & Scribe Solidarity

Today’s focus shifted toward the horizon—specifically, the upcoming En’Kara Sardar Fair in March. I traveled to the Isle of Teletus for a meeting facilitated by Trygg Tyran, as Abraham was under the weather. It was a productive gathering of minds, including Astary, Hendrix, Madeleine, and Kar. We reviewed the master schedule for the Fair; notably, Tuesday, March 17th has been designated as Scribe Day. Trygg emphasized the need for us to consolidate our presentation ideas by February 8th to ensure the Scribe Caste has a commanding presence without competing with other caste tents.

The discussion wasn't purely administrative; there’s a lighthearted push from Lady Kiki to ensure we don’t act like "stuffy bookworms" during the festivities. I find myself agreeing—a little wit and a few jokes can only strengthen our community. Hendrix also proposed a brilliant idea for a regular Scribe Conference, similar to the Physician summits, to keep sim traffic and roleplay active across different cities. On a more scandalous note, Madeleine brought up rumors of the "Love War" traditions returning—a barbaric wagon tradition that always seems to stir up the warriors. After the meeting, Trygg shared the registration documents and the Fair timeline, which I’ll need to study closely.

To Do:

  • Review the En’Kara 2026 Registration Documents and consolidated event schedule.

  • Brainstorm a presentation topic for Scribe Day (March 17th)—perhaps something regarding the "Ancestral Check" or the evolution of City Decrees.

  • Submit the Event Hosting form to Trygg or Kar by February 8th.

  • Coordinate with Asher to ensure Ar’s Station submits its Space Reservation form for a city tent at the Fair.

  • Look into Lady Kiki’s suggestion for a "Scribes of Merit" segment; I should ask Abraham for historical quotes and names.

The Rhythms of the Station - January 20

Journal Entry: 2026/01/20 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: The Rhythms of the Station

The city persists in its usual, restless rhythm. I spent the late hours of yesterday and the early light of this morning observing the constant flow of our citizens and visitors. Relia has been particularly active, appearing and vanishing like a shadow across the docks, while Magnus and Asher remain the steady anchors of our administrative and social life. Asher has slipped into an OOC mindset for a time, likely handling the complex logistics that keep Ar's Station thriving.

New faces continue to filter in—Dizzle and Bella have joined our ranks, and I caught a glimpse of a combatant named flitpa near the training grounds. It is a reminder that while I focus on the law and the mind of the city, the steel and muscle of the reach are always being honed. Myriam and Kar are also present, maintaining the intellectual and cultural standards we strive for. Despite the technical hum of the zCS system and the constant need for updates, there is a sense of continuity here that I find deeply comforting.

To Do:

  • Follow up with the newcomers, Bella and Dizzle, to see if they require any guidance on city customs.

  • Review the latest administrative notes from Asher once he returns to his RP duties.

  • Prepare my notes for the upcoming "Warriors and Warfare" lecture—today's training ground activity provided some excellent observations.

  • Organize the recent influx of community registration paperwork to ensure our records remain flawless.

The Mind of the City and Desolate Melodies - January 19

Journal Entry: 2026/01/19 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Gorean Campus of Lara / Ar Ruins Mood/Title: The Mind of the City and Desolate Melodies

Today I addressed the "mind" of Gorean civilization: The Law. In my third lecture at the Gorean Campus, I spoke to Bea, Myriam, and Janus about the distinction between Common Law—the ancient, biological bedrock of Gor—and City Decrees. We explored the discipline of the "Tal" greeting and the sacred contract of Salt. I emphasized that civilization is a daily choice: to say "Tal" instead of grabbing, to respect hospitality instead of poisoning the cup. Without law and custom, we are merely animals wearing silk.

Later, the expedition from Ar’s Station continued its weary trek through the ruins of Ar. The atmosphere was thick with smoke and ash, sparking another debate about the practicality of veils in such conditions. Luciana and Torrid chose to remove theirs to breathe, while I remained steadfast in mine, though I appreciated their concern. The gloom was briefly lifted by the musician Landers, who played a soothing tune on his Kalika amidst the carnage. Even the hardened warriors seemed to find a moment of peace, though tensions flared briefly when a soldier chided the Innkeeper for using a warrior’s salute sarcastically. It is a grim journey, but these moments of shared music and debate remind us why we are searching for the Home Stone.

To Do:

  • Finalize the transcript for today's "Laws and Customs" lecture for those who missed it.

  • Check in with Myriam regarding her request for notes from the first two weeks of the series.

  • Organize the "Bea Lael picture in red" and the "BTB Gorean Role play" documents from Caroline into my personal files.

  • Monitor the expedition's progress; the thick smoke near the ruins is becoming a health hazard for the Free Women.

Words to Remember - January 18

Journal Entry: 2026/01/18 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: Words to Remember

The morning air in the Station feels charged with the lingering energy of our journey's commencement. As I logged into my duties, I was greeted by the usual bustle of the region's citizens and the ever-present technical hum of the zCS system. It seems even the digital spirits need constant tending.

Asher Laurent shared a document titled "Words to remember," which I suspect contains vital wisdom or instructions as we continue this arduous trek toward reclaiming the Home Stone. In a world where honor is often tested by hardship, having a grounded set of principles to return to is a comfort. I saw Magnus and Alura nearby as I began my day, a reminder of the family and community ties that bind us together here. Despite the technical clutter of updates and mismatches, the purpose of our mission remains clear.

To Do:

  • Read and reflect on "Words to remember" shared by Asher.

  • Check in with the newcomers who arrived at the docks this morning.

  • Finalize the week's lesson plan for the Gorean Campus, incorporating the theme of "Ancestral Intent."

  • Organize the latest furniture and decor deliveries for the office—though I declined the Kazza set, I need to make sure the current space remains functional.

A Road Reclaimed & Old Friends Found - January 17

Journal Entry: 2026/01/17 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / The Road to Ar (Camp) Mood/Title: A Road Reclaimed & Old Friends Found

The day was defined by a momentous shift: the will of the Council has set us upon the road to Ar. We gathered as a community, not just as individuals, to begin the long journey to reclaim our Home Stone. Asher’s words resonated deeply—this path will be full of trials and required patience, but it is work that truly matters. I spent time at the encampment, which already has a bustling, weary energy. There was a rather spirited debate among the ladies—Luciana and Torrid specifically—about the practicality of veils in this smoke-filled, ashen environment. It seems even the most ancient traditions are being tested by the harsh realities of our trek. I eventually retreated to a wagon to rest as the first day’s travel took its toll.

Later, upon returning to the Station, I had the wonderful surprise of running into an old friend, Hiram Aït El Fayoum. It has been quite some time since we last spoke, and hearing that he is considering settling here as a trained magistrate is excellent news for our growing city. We caught up on the years—I shared my pride in my role as Governor's Scribe and the fact that three of my grown sons now live here with me. It’s a comfort to see familiar, honorable faces appearing as the Station evolves. Caroline was busy as usual, even sharing some "Sky RP" notes with me, and I’m pleased to see her settling into her own duties so well.

To Do:

  • Organize the "Sky RP" 1 and 2 documents shared by Caroline.

  • Follow up with Hiram regarding his potential magistrate residency and show him the Scribe Hall.

  • Review the latest zCS Meter updates; I received multiple decline notices today and need to ensure I'm running version 2.14.

  • Check the "SB Scout Report" to see how the path ahead for our journey looks.

  • Assist Caroline with her "Marketplace socks" search—a small comfort for the long road ahead.

Modern Technical Frustrations & Gorean Scheduling - January 16

Journal Entry: 2026/01/16 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart)

Mood/Title: Modern Technical Frustrations & Gorean Scheduling

The morning has been dominated by the temperamental spirits of the machine. I spent a good portion of the early hours wrestling with the zCS system; my meter was flagged as too old and disabled, forcing me into a cycle of deliveries and version mismatches. It is exhausting to keep up with these updates while trying to maintain the presence required of a Scribe. I eventually managed to join the game properly, though not without several "Version Mismatch" warnings ringing in my ears.

Beyond the technical clutter, the city is stirring. Abraham sent over the Lara weekend schedule, which I shall need to review carefully to ensure my own lecture preparations are in order. Mattis also shared a new landmark or document for Ar's Station concerning the Black Court, which piqued my interest. My usual circle of family and colleagues—Magnus, Caroline, and Alaric—are all active, though Mattis and Vincent seem to have stepped away for the moment.

To Do:

  • Review the Lara Weekend schedule from Abraham Jacobson.

  • Investigate the "ArStat_Home_S_ BlackCourt" document provided by Mattis Vella.

  • Watch the promotional video for the new "Sarah STS Bento AO" release from Vista Animations to see if it suits my social role.

  • Update my own internal registry with the latest citizen active status noticed this morning.

Stylized Shifts and Technical Ties - January 15

Journal Entry: 2026/01/15 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Bayview Mood/Title: Stylized Shifts and Technical Ties

The day felt like a bridge between roles. I spent a good deal of time alternating between my formal Gorean expectations and the lingering influence of that "biker" aesthetic I've been exploring. The L&B Swear cropped leather jacket and camisole have become a bit of a staple lately; there’s something empowering about the silhouette, even if it’s a world away from a Magistrate’s traditional robes.

I made a brief trip to Bayview, where I crossed paths with Brayton Lee. Poor soul seemed to be having a rough time with the technical spirits—he mentioned "SL being mean" to him. I can certainly sympathize; between simulator version mismatches and the constant need to update my own zCS meter and HUDs, it often feels like we are at the mercy of the gods of the machine. Despite the glitches, the Station remains a hub of activity. My family and colleagues—Caroline, Magnus, and even Abraham—are all active and keeping the gears of our society turning.

To Do:

  • Inspect the "AI_PG_Little_Girl_Hand_Macto" item shared by Mattis Vella.

  • Ensure all technical HUDs (TRUTH and VISTA) are fully synchronized after the latest simulator shifts.

  • Check in with Caroline to see if she needs further assistance with the library color-coding project.

  • Reach out to Mattis to discuss the context of the gift he sent today.

  • Prepare my mental scrolls for the Governor's next briefing—the Station is growing, and with growth comes more paperwork.

Modern Shadows and Gorean Registry - January 14

Journal Entry: 2026/01/14 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / West Burnham / Serena Gardena Mood/Title: Modern Shadows and Gorean Registry

The day began with a somewhat jarring notification from the VKC Announcer about pets—apparently, the VKC is closing, and I’ll need to read their notecard carefully to understand how it affects my own companions. It feels like yet another change in a week already full of them.

I spent a good portion of the day in West Burnham, diving back into that modern world with Izzy. He took me on a drive through the city—though the "black ice" made the roads treacherous and we nearly crashed a few times! He showed me the courthouse, the community center, and the local boardwalk. It’s such a strange contrast to the Station; they even have city workers fixing fire hydrants that bikers shoot for sport. I found myself reminiscing about my "biker chick" days before Gor, and I think I might look for my old leathers and tattoos just for a change of pace. Izzy, being the National VP of the Reapers, certainly has that outlaw spirit, and it was nice to just sit and talk at a bistro table without the weight of the Scribe’s robes for a few hours.

Back at Ar's Station, business continues. Caroline gave me the community registration documents for my own record, and I received the official Caste Enrollment & Registry form. I've also been doing quite a bit of "wardrobe maintenance," unpacking several new garments—including a beautiful Stella Gown, some winter furs, and that "Cropped" leather jacket from Swear that fits perfectly with my biker mood. I even managed to fix the alpha state on my mesh body after some technical flickering.

To Do:

  • Read the VKC notecard regarding the closing and pet updates.

  • Organize the "Caste Enrollment & Registry" form into the Station’s official archives.

  • Deliver the "SB Scout Report" given to me by Izzy to the relevant leadership.

  • Test the new Eloise Tattoo BODY appliers with my current skin.

  • Finalize the texture layout for the library books now that I have the "Lara schedule" from Abraham.

  • Practice with the new "Sexy Walk" AO from BAX to ensure it looks right with the patent ankle boots.

Modern Escapes and Gorean Realities - January 13

Journal Entry: 2026/01/13 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / West Burnham (Malibu R/P) Mood/Title: Modern Escapes and Gorean Realities

Today was a day of stark contrasts, moving from the rigid expectations of Ar's Station to the surreal, modern landscapes of a Malibu-themed roleplay sim. I landed on Lacey's yacht after clicking a link she shared, finding her and Wind in a world of condos and snowstorms in California. It was a strange respite, but it sparked a very raw conversation about the state of Gor. Wind didn't mince words—he believes "Old Gor" is dead, filled with "fakers" who don't read the books and act like "baffoons." Hearing him and Lacey vent about the lack of real men and the deception behind the scenes in sims like Teletus was eye-opening. Lacey even shared her cynical view of Second Life trust, which she has in her profile—a reminder to tread carefully.

Before my modern excursion, the morning was productive back at the Station. Caroline and I worked more on the library project. She’s focusing on color-coding the books by caste, and we’re hoping Asher can help us upload custom "Ar's Station" textures for the spines. I also received a formal apology letter from Alaric to deliver to Catherine. It’s funny how even in a world of steel and lashes, a well-quilled letter still carries weight. I ended my day at the campus, teaching the second part of my Gorean series, focusing on the High Castes.

To Do:

  • Deliver Alaric's letter to Catherine.

  • Review the LARA schedule sent by Abraham for the coming week.

  • Set up the new [Tia] Scroll Walls and Captain’s Chair in my office.

  • Unpack the new "Brennah" gray hood and "Isolde" garments.

  • Consider Lacey’s invitation to join their city roleplay—she mentioned teaching or courthouse jobs are available there.

  • Organize the "Basic Scribe Classes" and "Trial Cases" documents Caroline gave me.

The Skeleton of Civilization - January 12

Journal Entry: 2026/01/12 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Gorean Campus of Lara Mood/Title: The Skeleton of Civilization

Today marked the second week of my 10-week lecture series on Gorean society. I focused on the Caste System—what I call the "skeleton" of our civilization. It was a rigorous session where I challenged the "poisonous lies" of equality often found on Earth, replacing them with the Gorean recognition of nature’s inherent hierarchy. I detailed the Five High Castes—Initiates, Scribes, Builders, Physicians, and Warriors—emphasizing that social clarity is not oppression, but harmony. Pandora attended and was quite attentive, even leaving a gift of "Oak Soap" to be passed along to Sphere Proto.

Back at the Station, I spent some time with Caroline working on the logistics of my office and the library. We discussed color-coding the books for the various castes—red for Warriors, green for Physicians, and so on. Caroline suggested involving Asher to help with creating custom textures that include "Ar’s Station" branding. I also had a cozy moment showing Caroline how I've decorated my home; it was nice to step away from the rigidity of the Scribe’s desk and share a bit of my personal space with family.

To Do:

  • Deliver the "Oak Soap" gift from Pandora to Sphere Proto.

  • Work on creating a "from scratch" book cover template for Caroline to use in the library.

  • Consult with Asher regarding the creation and uploading of "Ar's Station" book textures.

  • Review the transcript of the Warrior Introduction class that was taught recently to stay updated on Scarlet Caste movements.

  • Organize the recent community registration documents into the new filing system.

Family Bonds and Frayed Tempers - January 11

Journal Entry: 2026/01/11 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Isle of Teletus / Rive-de-Bois Mood/Title: Family Bonds and Frayed Tempers

The day was heavy with family matters, beginning with a visit from my daughters, Catherine and Caroline. I am still feeling a bit numb from my recent loss, but their support is a comfort. We decided to travel together to the Isle of Teletus—though the reason was grim. Catherine needed to have her slave, Doe, disciplined with ten lashes. While I am no stranger to the realities of our world, I chose to distance myself from the punishment, preferring to focus on the surroundings of Teletus.

At Teletus, we encountered Alaric, the head slaver. What should have been a professional arrangement turned sour quickly. Catherine attempted to negotiate the price of the lashes, claiming Alaric had previously used the wrong whip and caused "unneeded damage" to her property. Alaric did not take the insult well; he dropped the silver coins on the floor, dismissed us, and stormed off. It was a tense exchange that left Catherine quite frustrated, though I had to admire Alaric's pride in his craft. Surprisingly, Alaric later approached me in private with a formal apology and a letter for Catherine, which I’ve promised to deliver.

Later, we joined Catherine for a game of Zar in Rive-de-Bois. It was a beautiful area, and though I didn't play, watching the tournament and the interaction between players like Janus and Nova was a welcome distraction. I ended the day with some shopping, collecting several new veils and hair styles to refresh my appearance for the coming week.

To Do:

  • Deliver Alaric’s "Formal Apology and Clarification" letter to Catherine as soon as possible.

  • Unpack and organize the new Truth hair styles and Enfant Terrible garments.

  • Figure out the proper color commands for the new FW Essentials Veil (the steelblue and navy settings seem finicky).

  • Follow up with the Governor regarding the community registration documents Caroline returned to me.

  • Check the zCS Discord for updates, as there were several meter mismatches during my travels today.

A Family Reconnected & The City’s New Heart - January 10

Journal Entry: 2026/01/10 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Bathhouse / The Outskirts Mood/Title: A Family Reconnected & The City’s New Heart

Today was a whirlwind of social connection and foundational planning for the Station. The morning began at the tea house with Kelly; it is truly heartening to see her considering making this city her permanent home. I even spent some time at the docks with my youngest son, Magnus, and "Uncle" Izzy. The conversation was a bit intense at first—Izzy is still rightfully suspicious about Rask’s "dishonorable" death, suspecting he was a fraud or a Cosian plant. It was quite a shock to Magnus to realize his grandfather is none other than Jarl WIND of the Silver Blades! We certainly need to plan a family feast soon to bring all these "uncles" and my sons together properly.

The highlight of the day was the OOC ladies' meeting held in the bathhouse, led by Asher. It was incredibly informative to hear about the intentional design of the city—how the bathhouse isn't just for show but is meant for relaxed roleplay like hair days and social bathing. Asher shared his vision for Ar's Station as a trade outpost of Ar, governed rather than ruled by an Ubar, which clarifies so much for those of us working within the administration. I also finally got to propose "The Circle"—an outdoor gathering spot for teaching, poetry, and small plays. Asher was very supportive and showed me a potential spot near the woods. It feels like the city is truly starting to breathe and develop its own culture.

To Do:

  • Draft the "Circle" curriculum for the new teaching area Asher showed me.

  • Coordinate with Magnus regarding character paragraphs and photos for the Ar's Station website.

  • Follow up on the community registration documents Caroline shared.

  • Schedule a time for a "hair and nail" afternoon at the bathhouse to help the women of the station get to know one another.

  • Keep an eye out for an experienced Slaver or Initiate to join the city staff, as Luciana and Asher mentioned the need.

Solace in the Quiet and Father's New Plan - January 9

Journal Entry: 2026/01/09 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Lara II Mood/Title: Solace in the Quiet and Father's New Plan

The day began with a much-needed moment of calm. I spent the morning at the tea house with Kelly, who was looking quite lovely in her new dress. We shared fruity oolong and discussed the quiet state of the city. I find her company refreshing—she is realistic and kind. I even showed her the garden and kitchen areas, suggesting she might find fulfilling work there, perhaps even adding some Pani touches to the space. It would be wonderful to have her move here permanently; she seems to fit the spirit of Ar's Station perfectly.

On a personal note, the situation with Rask has reached a definitive end for now. I confirmed today that he is truly gone—no suitor, no suitor-to-be, and no guard. It is a strange feeling after the intensity of the past few days, but my father has already come forward with a new plan. He has offered to help me find a "good man," a strong partner who can help me continue my line. I find myself surprisingly open to the idea; Father’s judgment in these matters is something I’ve learned to value, and after the drama surrounding Rask’s disappearance, a more stable, family-sanctioned courtship sounds appealing. Work remains steady, though I had a bit of trouble with some faulty keystrokes while filing my scrolls today—I'll need to double-check those records tomorrow.

To Do:

  • Follow up with Catherine or Asher regarding Kelly's interest in the garden/kitchen workspace.

  • Review the "Meeting Notes SCoG" from Trygg regarding the January 7th assembly.

  • Sort through the updated "Initiates" notecards; the file seems to have lost several entries during the system update.

  • Speak with Father further about his ideas for a new suitor.

  • Clean and organize the filing desk—too many invalid entries today suggest I need to slow down with the quill.

Northern Echoes and New Jurisdictions - January 8

Journal Entry: 2026/01/08 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Gorean Campus of Lara / Hidden Falls Mood/Title: Northern Echoes and New Jurisdictions

Today was an intellectually stimulating day, dominated by the Torvaldsland Studies class at the Gorean College of Lara. Lady BilliAnn (Anja Steinnsdottir) delivered a fascinating lecture on the cultural nuances of the North. It was a rigorous reminder of how different life is beyond the civilized South—no formal castes, no Home Stones, but a society deeply rooted in the honor of the Long Hall and the status of "sitting above the salt." I particularly enjoyed the discussion on the Northern Kaissa pieces, like the "Singer" replacing the Scribe, and the brutal "bat and ball" game that even Tarl Cabot was wise enough to decline. It gave me a lot to think about regarding my own heritage and how these traditions contrast with my current life in Ar's Station.

Later, I traveled to Hidden Falls to look into the Silver Blade Mercenary Home and received a copy of the "Laws of the Fjord." It seems the North is calling to me in more ways than one today. Amidst the scholarly pursuits and administrative scouting, the Station remains busy. I spent some time organizing my own collection of scrolls, specifically sorting through the Magistrate and Scribe notecards to ensure my own records are as meticulous as my new role as Governor's Scribe demands.

To Do:

  • Review the "Laws of the Fjord" document from the Silver Blade Mercenary Home.

  • Incorporate today's notes on salt-prestige and the Long Hall into my "Introduction to Gor" curriculum.

  • Follow up on the initiate's suspicious message—now that I've seen how "Singers" are honored in the North, I wonder if our own local "musician," Vancius, has heard any rumors.

  • Prepare for next week’s lesson on Northern slavery; it will be a sharp contrast to the Southern customs I usually teach.

  • Organize the "Initiates" and "Magistrates" notecard files—the collection is growing and needs better indexing.

Shifts in Rank and Shadowy Threats - January 7

Journal Entry: 2026/01/07 Location: Ar's Station (Ironheart) / Isle of Teletus / Gorean Campus of Lara Mood/Title: Shifts in Rank and Shadowy Threats

The day was dominated by the Blue Caste meeting at the Isle of Teletus. It was heartening to see so many learned friends—Abraham, Kar, Armand, and others—as we synchronized our plans for the upcoming new year and the Enkara fair in March. I am still adjusting to the news of my own promotion to Governor’s Scribe at Ar's Station; it is a heavy responsibility to advise the Governor directly, quite a step up from my years as a magistrate. My introduction to Gor classes at the Lara campus are also underway, and despite a slow start, the evening sessions are drawing in dedicated students.

However, a dark cloud lingers over the Station. Rask has vanished, replaced only by a highly suspicious scroll claiming an initiate has killed him. Izzy and I examined the parchment at my home; he dismissed it as a forgery, noting that a true warrior would show his face rather than hide behind ink. We searched Rask's room at the Tarn building and found it empty. I have turned the matter over to the Council for Commander Valerius to investigate. Amidst this, I’ve been helping the Silver Blades scout for a permanent barracks in the city, though finding a building large enough for their whole crew—and one that Father would actually move to—is proving a challenge.

To Do:

  • Finalize the syllabus for next week's Gorean Civilization class at the campus.

  • Follow up with Commander Valerius regarding the search for Rask and the validity of the "death" scroll.

  • Speak with Asher regarding building assignments for the Silver Blades' proposed barracks.

  • Prepare my presentation topic for "Scribe Day" (March 17th) for the Enkara fair organizers.

  • Deliver the message to the Governor regarding the latest Merchant Hall treaties mentioned by Viktoria Audax.

Elder Status & Contract proposed by Sphere Proto for Kati Evans 1/5/2026

The Situation

Kati was previously bullied by an Ubara because her role and duties were undefined, allowing her to be punished for things outside her control (e.g., not being at the Ubara's side constantly). Sphere Proto is proposing a legal shield to prevent this from happening under the new Governor at Ar's Station.

The Solution: "Elder" Status & Contract

Sphere’s strategy relies on two components working together:

  1. The Title (Social Protection): Elevating Kati to "Elder" status. In Gorean tradition, Elders are revered and generally untouchable by standard political bullying.

  2. The Contract (Legal Protection): A written agreement that strictly defines exactly what Kati does. If it’s not in the contract, she cannot be punished for not doing it.

Document Analysis

Document 1: Background on Elders Sphere provided a mix of IC (In-Character) and OOC (Out-of-Character) evidence to justify the title.

  • Key Argument: Elders hold knowledge and experience. They are protected by community tradition.

  • Book Justification: He cites Magicians of Gor and Explorers of Gor to prove that "Elders" are a recognized concept in the books, validating the roleplay hook.

  • Historical Context: He lists Earth terms (Alderman, Senator, Shaikh) to show the universal respect for the title, fitting the Gorean lore that humans were brought from Earth.

Document 2: The Sample Contract This is the binding legal document.

  • Duties Defined: It specifically lists her roles: Scribe to the Governor, Legal Counseling, and Teaching (Gorean Civilization, Caste System, etc.).

  • The "Teeth" of the Contract: It explicitly states that anyone questioning her duties is referred to this contract.

  • The Risk: The penalties for breach of contract are severe. While it protects her, it also states that if she fails her duties, punishment can range from "loss of title" to "enslavement" or "public impalement."

Summary

Sphere has provided a robust legal framework. By signing this, Kati trades the vague vulnerability of her old position for a high-status, high-stakes position. She is protected from petty bullying, but she is now legally bound to perform specific duties under threat of severe punishment.

How would you like to proceed with this information?

  • Do you need a draft of the response to Sphere?

  • Do you need a modified version of the contract (perhaps softening the "impalement" clause)?

  • Do you want to discuss the Governor's likely reaction?

================================================

Here are the selected parts of the conversation between Sphere Proto and Kati Evans.

Part 1: Morning Greetings & Handing off the Lesson Plan

Sphere and Kati meet near the docks/cafe while Sphere is showing a visitor (Kelly) around.

[2026/01/05 03:37] Sphere Proto: /me has stopped to let her pass, "Here we are. Is there any you are in need of", he asked the Pani woman, then heard a greeting and turned , "Tal lady Kati", he greeted the scribe.

[2026/01/05 03:39] Kati Evans: Tal Sir, Tal Lady, how are you both today?

[2026/01/05 03:40] Sphere Proto: /me smiled, "Doing well, thank you, I trust you are doing well too", Sphere said and then gestured to the city's visitor, "Lady Kati, this is lady Kelly. She's visiting us while her ship takes in resupplies."

[2026/01/05 03:47] Sphere Proto: /me looked at Kati when he said, "I've shown her the merchant district and specifically brought her to the seamstress' shop."

[2026/01/05 03:47] Kati Evans: I am Lady Kati Evans, the Governor's Scribe here at Ar's Station. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.

[2026/01/05 04:04] Kati Evans: Yes we keep knowledge and also share it. I have a class I am preparing to teach later today. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

[2026/01/05 04:06] Kati Evans: /me hand Sphere a copy of the scroll about the class

[2026/01/05 04:07] Sphere Proto: /me accepts the scroll Kati gave him and has a quick look over it before placing it under his belt.

[2026/01/05 04:12] Sphere Proto: /me watched the man move off and smirked a little not trusting the look of the man's outfit. Then looking back at Kelly, "I have a few things to take care of. Please excuse me ladies", he said tuning his gaze towards the scribe.

[2026/01/05 04:14] Kati Evans: Safe paths to you.

[2026/01/05 04:14] Sphere Proto: /me inclined his head, "I wish you well ladies", he said before turning to make his way in the direction of the scribe's district.

Part 2: The "Circle" Project & Discussing Past Bullying

Later, Sphere joins Kati and Caroline at the High Caste Square. They discuss city projects before Sphere asks about Kati's history.

[2026/01/05 06:19] Kati Evans: Greeting Sphere.

[2026/01/05 06:20] Sphere Proto: /me came from the court house to check on a document before going to the scribe's offices when he noticed some of the free women sitting outside, "Tal ladies" he greeted them...

[2026/01/05 06:34] Caroline Gallius-Laurent: ...Caroline then turned to Kati " Congratulations on being selected to serve as the Governor of Ar's personal scribe... And Sir, I congratulate you as well as making Senior Scribe..."

[2026/01/05 06:37] Sphere Proto: /me looked at Caroline inclining his head, "My thanks lady. The position holds much responsibility towards the city as well as to the scribes of our city. I hope to serve everyone equally for what is needed."

[2026/01/05 07:04] Kati Evans: I would like to bring the Circle here too. Something I was working on in Teletus that never got going.

[2026/01/05 07:07] Sphere Proto: /me nodded, "I know Asher is in favor of doing more teaching and apprenticeship in the city... but in general I like us to work together on the training program and roll it out for all the castes."

[2026/01/05 07:09] Kati Evans: Well I have this 13 week 65 session plan that I was working on designed to teach the laws of the city too all. It would involve actors, poets, storytellers, and speakers.

[2026/01/05 07:13] Sphere Proto: /me smiled, "It's a concept I applied in Voltai Viktel about two hundred and five years ago... Perhaps you can hold it here and see how many will participate..."

[2026/01/05 07:18] Kati Evans: I was just beginning to work with the other groups to see if they would be interested in such a project when... well I had to leave Teletus. I just got tired of being bullied.

[2026/01/05 07:19] Sphere Proto: /me inclined his head with a bit of a frown, "Why and in what way did you get bullied?", Sphere asked in concern

[2026/01/05 07:23] Kati Evans: One person kept picking on me for 2.5 - 3 months... that was it. Sorry real is calling I have to go now

________________________________________

Part 3: The Solution – Elder Status & Contracts

Kati returns from her break, and Sphere proposes a way to protect her legally using the "Elder" title and contracts.

[2026/01/05 08:12] Sphere Proto: /me inclined his head seeing Kati return, "Good to see you again. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions related to the bullying? I might have a way to prevent it here."

[2026/01/05 08:15] Sphere Proto: "...Can you tell what position the person held who has been bullying you"

[2026/01/05 08:16] Kati Evans: The bulling was OOC and it was the Ubara... I started as her personal council... Then I got in trouble because I was not at her side all the time.

[2026/01/05 08:18] Sphere Proto: Had you put a contract in place for your time and services?

[2026/01/05 08:18] Kati Evans: Contract, nope. I could have left anytime

[2026/01/05 08:21] Sphere Proto: Hmm.. such services should be on contract... So, I want to help you to prevent this in the future in two ways if you allow me.

[2026/01/05 08:24] Sphere Proto: /me smiled... "I want to give you the option to have me as a co-signer as head of our caste, which puts some additional weight behind the value of the contract..."

[2026/01/05 08:27] Sphere Proto: "As a second measure, though I do not dare to ask for your age, I would offer to place you in the position of a caste elder. This allows you full freedom to teach... the position is above all other positions and besides that of Head of Caste."

[2026/01/05 08:34] Kati Evans: Well I am an elder in both age and experience... Would you explain more what you mean?

[2026/01/05 08:40] Sphere Proto: Being an elder is more then having a title... The elders are by tradition protected by the community as they hold knowledge and experience others still have to gain. Even by laws the position is protected... no administrator, ubar or ubara would in their right mind consider to enslave an elder.

[2026/01/05 08:47] Sphere Proto: ... "Nothing would change by assigning the title, you can continue your work as always, all that would be come obligated, is providing lessons in one way of another. As you already do so, it doesn't change anything at all..."

[2026/01/05 08:53] Sphere Proto: "...so my thoughts on add to your benefit and after working out the documentation and contract, I'd like for you to read them and think about the offer."

[2026/01/05 08:54] Kati Evans: It is the documentation and contract that I would like more explanation on.

[2026/01/05 08:56] Sphere Proto: ... "Anyone questioning you and your duties, can be referred to the contract and there is no way it legally can be opposed..."

[2026/01/05 09:01] Kati Evans: I am still puzzled by what a contract would do for me and how it could change things. It would not have changed what happened to me.

[2026/01/05 09:03] Sphere Proto: /me grinned, "I think you will when you see its contents and the additional document. Give me a 2 or 3 days and you will see my point."

[2026/01/05 09:04] Kati Evans: The use of Elder seems reasonable as I am one and have been for a long time.

[2026/01/05 09:08] Kati Evans: I need to run this by the Governor.

[2026/01/05 09:11] Kati Evans: I will have to get back to you after I speak with him. Oh if you would write up an example that would be helpful to show him.

[2026/01/05 09:14] Sphere Proto: /me smiled, "It would be very useful if you could, that would save a lot of time."

[2026/01/05 09:17] Kati Evans: I am not one who writes contracts, so I would not know what you are thinking should be in it... It would be best to give the clearest example for the Governor to see...

[2026/01/05 09:17] Sphere Proto: /me inclined his head, "I'll get to work on it.. For now, I wish you well"

Part 4: The Delivery

Later that afternoon, Sphere sends the documents.

===========================================================

[2026/01/05 12:49] Second Life: Sphere Proto gave you Information about the position of elders - 5-Jan-2026.

Back ground information on the position of elders in Gorean cultures

-- This document is informative and parts that are marked as IC, can be used in roleplay --

-- Parts marked as OOC are there for reference, supporting validity in various cultures --

Introduction

The term Elder has two general meanings:

- Someone older then you

- Someone in the position of elder or senior

Where it's common for those older to have more knowledge and experience, it is  not true by definition. As people are able to change caste, it doesn't means they get the knowledge and experience with the transfer.

Those given the title of elder or senior are honored for their duties and performance in the caste or city. Whether it is for the time they worked for the caste or exceptional performance, the title is to be honored by tradition by everyone regardless of rank or position.

The term Elder or its equivalent in another language is used in all cultures on Gor. Via their title as elder or senior they gain a measure of authority for the teachings in their caste. This usage is usually derived from the notion that the oldest members of any given group are the wisest, and are thus the most qualified to rule in a situation where the culture has no caste, providing counsel or serve the said caste or people in some other capacity.

Contents

    * 1 Value of the elders

    * 2 Society

    * 3 Book quotes

    * 4 Various Other Uses

1. Value of the elders

Being an elder is more then having a title. As said, age and experience hold value and is to be respected by those younger or in lower positions regardless of their caste. The elders are by tradition protected by the community as they hold knowledge and experience others still have to gain. With an average life span of five hundred (500) years, a person learns a lot and has a lot to share. Those elders are valuable. Even by law the position is protected and unless a law is broken by an elder, no administrator, ubar or ubara would remove the title from them.

2. Society

Elder is a position in the organized community that is most common in subsistence cultures, Elder-hood being the condition or quality of being an elder. It is essentially the state of being in the latter portion of one's life and being looked to for leadership of either a passive or active nature by your peers and\or subordinates due almost exclusively to this fact. Sometimes it involves a ceremonial investiture of some kind, and other times it does not. Sometimes it involves a definite chronological milestone which must be surpassed, while at other times the required age is simply relative to the ages of all of the other members of the group in question. Once having met the peculiar requirements of their individual groups, however, all elders are generally expected to mentor, share their experience, create a sense of oneness for their followings and, most especially, act as the spiritual embodiments of their communities.

An example of informal elder-hood is the role of the matriarchal grandmother as it appears in many parts of the so-called global south. In the absence of viable male alternatives or even in the presence of them, grandmothers in these areas tend to serve as both the de facto heads of their groups of descendants and the catalysts of their periodic reunions and meetings. By so doing they provide their families with a cohesion that would probably be absent if they weren't present. Another example is that of the vocational mentor who guides his or her apprentices with tools of sponsorship, advocacy and the demonstration of skills. He or she serves to facilitate creativity in his or her charges by teaching the methods of the past as they pertain to their various occupations.

In more formal examples of elder-hood, elders serve as the members of the governing and/or advisory bodies of higher personages such as kings and presidents. This often gives them a prestige amongst their peoples that's comparable to that of the classical nobility of old Europe. Due to this, elder-hood of this variety is generally considered to be something worthy of aspiring to in the communities where it exists.

3. Book quotes:

-- We regarded the delka.

"Glory to Ar!" whispered men. "Glory to Ar!"

I was pleased to see that not all the youth of Ar were in the keeping of Cos, that in the hearts of some at least there yet burned the fire called patriotism. Too, I recalled some would take the oath of citizenship only facing their Home Stone, now in far-off Cos. Others, in the streets and alleys, I speculated, could teach their elders courage. --

Magicians of Gor, chapter 14

-- "You have the golden chain, given to you by Bila Huruma," he said.

I touched the chain. "Yes," I said, "that is true."

I lifted the chain from my neck and displayed It to the men on the long scaffolding.

They continued to encourage us to be on our way.

"It is no use," said Ayari.

Even the children were screaming at us, imitating their elders. To them, of course, objectively, I supposed it made no difference whether we came ashore or not. This was the first settlement we had come to on the river. It lay only an Ahn beyond the first island, one of several, we had encountered.--

Explorers of Gor, Chapter 27

(OOC)

4. Various Other Uses

This part is to support the existence of the term through out history in various cultures.

As is stated in the books that the human race on Gor was brought over from Earth, it is plausible the position of elder was applied in the same way.

    * Alderman - An Alderman in modern Anglo-Saxon derived legal systems is synonymous with what in other systems might be known as a city councilman. It derives from the term ealdorman, from which the term Earl is also derived, meaning old man.

    * Gerousia - Gerousia was the Spartan equivalent of a senate. The term means Council of Elders.

    * Hor Chan - Mayan, meaning "Chief of Chan." Chan was a term some Maya used to refer to themselves.

    * Indigenous Australians use the term elder in English to denote a widely-respected man of authority who has been through many rituals and ceremonies and has a deep knowledge of traditional lore. He will be consulted on any important aspect of Aboriginal life. In some Aboriginal societies, the term is also applied to women holding a similar position of status in their society.

    * Kaumatua are the tribal elders in Māori society

    * Oday - The term for elder in the Somali language. Elders hold an important position in Somali society, particularly within the Somali customary law or Xeer, where they serve as judges.

    * Senator - In the Senate of Rome, the senators were men. Senator comes from the Latin root sen- "old" (senex "old man"), and the senators were actually called patres — 'fathers'.

    * Seniūnas - Ruler of Eldership, (seniūnija in Lithuanian), Lithuania's smallest administrative division.

    * Shaikh - Shaikh means "old man" in Arabic. There are specific cultural and religious connotations as well.

    * Starosta or Starost - Starosta, derrived from word stary - "old", is a title for an official or unofficial position of leadership that has been used in various contexts through most of Slavic history (see also Starets).

    * Vanem - Ancient ruler of an Estonian parish and county. From 1920-1937, Estonian head of state and head of government was called Riigivanem, meaning "State Elder".

    * Witan - In Anglo-Saxon and other Germanic traditions was a wise man although usually just a noble. The term is most often used to describe those who attended the Witenagemot.

    * Oloye - Amongst the Yoruba people of West Africa, the term oloye is used to refer to an elder of aristocratic rank, though it is usually translated by them to mean chieftain.
